Yeah it's been a pretty crap debate overall. 45 seconds to read from their platform then a few minutes to yell over each other and blame the other guys. Next question.

As a current medical student in Saskatchewan, Kenney using Sask as a model healthcare system is so laughable. I’ve personally lobbied the provincial government as a med student on issues we are falling behind in, and going across the country on electives I have to say Alberta has been by far the best run system I’ve worked in so far (Ontario by far the worst).

Kenney nailed the education response. Notley needs to realize that there are also kids leaving the system as they graduate. We don’t hire new teachers for every new group of kids, ridiculous. However, as a whole this debate is brutal.

From MIntz
A question we should get answer. Of the 7 MT Alberta has reduced in GHG emissions, how much is due to the carbon vs other policies like phase-out of coal?

Gotta say: I am shocked at how poorly
@RachelNotley
is performing in the #abvotes debate. I have long considered her to be one of the strongest politicians in Canada. Not tonight.

What a tire fire. Kenney is slimy as it gets, and the rest seem disorganized.

I was surprised at how strong he was on the educational question. Notley has not had a good debate, as slimy as Kenney can be both he and Mandal came out better then her as she over focused on the UCP and not enough about what the NDP has to offer.
The Liberal leader was kind of more annoying which is shocking since he's a former pipebuilding, freedom fighter member of the Justice league constitutional lawyer.

I admit I have a soft spot for @Dave_Khan
- he is smart and he’s in politics for the right reasons. I’d like to see him win his seat. #ableg

My take: Both @jkenneyand @RachelNotley did well - certainly enough to maintain base support. @Dave_Khan and @SMandel_AB
did better than expected. So I think that means they won. #ableg

Does anyone know why Global wasn't involved with the debate? Did they refuse or were they not invited? It seems sort of weird to me.

Well that was a train wreck.
For Notley she needed a strong debate and needed to land some blows on Kenney, the problem is she really didn't get either. She got too focused on things like Kenney, the UCP instead of on her own party. Her platform was actually dealt with in a surprisingly vague way.
Kenney needed to not get tagged, he didn't he was surprisingly strong in terms of the education question.
Mandal did well, I don't think he was forceful enough, he got hurt a bit on the healthcare file. I did like some of his ideas but he was a bit of an after thought
Kahn annoyed me and came across as to scripted at times. He did land some nice shots on Notley and Kenney, but frankly he'll be the next ex leader of the Alberta Liberal Party.
There were no winners, those of us dumb enough to watch it were losers, I doubt it changed anyone's vote.

She spent most of her time smearing and fearing Kenney as opposed to defending her record and telling Albertans what she would do.

3 on the CBC panel all believe Kenney performed the best. Agreed that Notley attacked Kenney way to much instead of talking platforms.
