Serena said she has a pec injury so bad she cant even serve. I hope she is able to come back I was really looking forward to her match with Maria. Sharapova just became the favorite to win RG on the womens side.

Also Vamanos huge win by Nadal. Marterer is going to be a heck of a player, he played well.

Sucks that really the only truly intriguing match of the entire tournament (both sides) didn't even happen. It's been a very crappy major, hopefully the last couple rounds can salvage it.

If you ignore DelPo being significantly better on the ground yes. But he's already up a break in the first, it'll probably a straight sets breeze for Juan Martin.

Is it just me or does there seem to be a lot more empty seats than previous years? Even the Nadal match was just empty out there.

Well obviously the Fed effect is there, but in general the French crowds are pretty weak. And I think as great as Nadal is on clay, he's rendered the tournament too boring and predictable, especially with Novak out of God mode and Andy not even here. Just not much intrigue to draw in fans.

Apparently, crowds have been larger than they were in 2017, however maybe people are strolling the grounds more than actually going to watch matches.

The worst congestion is in the passageway (above) between the main Court Philippe Chatrier and the second-largest Court Suzanne Lenglen.

One journalist from Belgium suggested that there should at least be lanes designated specifically for people going in one direction or the other.

But sometimes the problem comes from people lining up for the Roland Garros merchandise shops or washrooms with the queue extending into spaces where people are simply moving between various destinations on the grounds.

The total number of spectators for last year’s 15-day event (there’s play on the first Sunday) was 427,472. So far in 2018 each of the first six days has had a larger crowd than 2017 – with the number peaking at 34,700 last Wednesday.

The four largest courts – Chatrier (14,911), Lenglen (9,829), No. 1 (3,802) and the new Court 18 (2,158) – have seating for a total of 30,700 spectators.

Fognini's "quit trying in the middle of the match" tactic works to perfection as he lulls Cilic to sleep in the third before winning the fourth in a tiebreaker. Of course he'll probably get bageled in the fifth, but that's Fabio for you.

Never feel bad for Fabio, that guy is the ultimate jerk. Always yelling at the umpires, smashing racquets, swearing, making sexist remarks can't stand him.

Zverev looks to have run out of gas as Theim is going to win this in straights. Disappointing thought this could have been a good match. Still a good showing for Zverev and he will probably be one of the favorites at Wimbledon.

I don't know if you were watching the match, but in the second set, it appeared that Zverev pulled a hamstring or something in his leg and needed a medical timeout. He got it wrapped, but he just wasn't the same afterwards. That said, you are playing with fire when you are extended to five sets three times in the first week at the French Open and eventually it's going to catch up with you.
