Those 3 teams would have to offer something pretty substantial fot the leafs to listen to it. The rumours i heard was JVR was one of the core that the leafs want to build around. If i was leafs management i would want a 1st and one of Klimchuk or Poirier. Maybe the flames can somehow throw in Raymond but thats a long shot.

JVR has a great contract and is still very young. The price to move him is very high.

Wait are these rumours true, or just pure speculation?

JVR is part of the solution in Toronto. Hard to imagine that they would trade him for anything that isn't a clear win for them.

Rumours Are confirmed hearings and sightings that people have heard from, speculations are just made up from the fans

Fair enough and I was half-joking...but here's the thing:
I assume that you mean if Dreger says ortweets something, it becomes a rumour of sorts. Yet what happens when he is just making stuff up/guessing as usual? Is it still a rumour or purely speculation like anyone else making stuff up/guessing.
Its why I shake my head at people that post ANYTHING from Eklund...the guy sits around making stuff up on a daily basis, but because he then puts it on his blog and website, it becomes a rumour. Its so bizarre.

I really wish the whole online hockey community would start referring to Eklund's "rumours" as trade proposals.
Beside's his one or two contacts in Philly that's all he's doing is looking around the league at who's available and posting what he thinks makes sense.
It's no different than what HFboards does all day long, except no one takes random fan proposals and starts discussing if there's any smoke to them. Not sure why we do it with Eklund.

JVR probably requires one of the flames young NHLers going the other way.
Wouldn't make sense otherwise since he is young and on a good contract.

I'd do Klimchuk+2016-1st to get JVR. I might even throw in a Wotherspoon or a Hunter Smith to get it done. No idea why they would trade him though, he's a good young player to help build the nucleolus of their future top 6. As long as he's only your third best forward, he's a fantastic player to build around.

I haven't heard anyone say that made sense either, at least not from the Bruins standpoint.

You would have to think if Holtby gets a big arbitration award close to the $8.1 million he is asking for (which may be unlikely), the Capitals will look at moving Marcus Johannson or someone else

Wow....crazy times. I don't know if that actually makes sense in the scheme of today's salaries but I know my brain does not compute that.

Holtby likely asked for that number because he is looking to negotiate a ~7 million dollar deal long term. He really is a top goalie in the league at 25

People not understanding arbitration and overreacting at the high/low offers is starting to become annoying. Almost as annoying as people wanting to trade Gio because of his "demands"
