Also, just tried the 360 port. It even fails as a copy-paste of NHL 14. Unless NHL 14 failed to save your custom team's name (using it to bring back the Nordiques and Whalers).

Now every time the above teams have the puck they're irreversibly called the "Red All Stars". I think it's a fairly easy to correct memory leak issue (they just fail to store the team name as part of the Custom Team data)...but I'm amazed that they managed to bugger up a game mode they haven't touched in any major fashion for 5 years.

Annnd I win my first game 9-3. Guy quit in the third. Man this game is pretty much NHL 14 with worse goalies. The announcers were worth the $50 though.

anybody else finding it difficult to find decently sized players as BeAGM progresses? (drafted players are small and don't grow as they age)

Sounds like they predictably went over board to fix the mess in nhl14 that was prospect growth. Every player that was 5'10 or 5'11 seems to get to 6'1 or 6'2 after 3 years post Draft. But they never put on much weight so the league is filled with 6'2 players that are between 170-180 lbs at around season 7. Always amusing to see 6'2 Klimchuk, 6'3 Mcdavid and 6'1 Petan ripping around.

All the reviewers are ripping EA a new one, and with good reason. It's sad to see this series fall from grace. A real shame there's no true competition and EA will continue to monopolize the market. After reading some of the reviews about the lack of substance in the next-gen versions, it's a shame that people are still buying it. So glad I didn't pay for this.

For me I just want to play non-online games and don't get super deep into things like the draft and contracts so I don't feel like I've been ripped off like others may. I'll be sticking to only Be a GM mode unless they add a 'sim to next shift' button though.

finally got around to messing around with be a gm this weekend. it's a pretty useless mode.

there's on draft, the trade deadline is just a marker on the calendar, there is no detail or dedication of any kind to this day, there is no gm upgrades, experience tracking, just no depth whatsoever, and of course no draft.

The draft is so broken. I just trade all my 1st-3rd round picks for good prospects and players.

Better than drafting 8 goalies a year.

my drafts have been fine, they've only selected one goalie for me so far in 3 drafts.

auto draft would be a viable gap in the mode if there was some level of adding a weightage on what the GM (ie. you) want the draft to tackle. Similar to the trade block where you can put your wants as far position, attributes (ie. defensive awareness, speed, size), nationality, etc. Or being able to simply state BPA in every round, would have been nice, rather than drafting in a position where the franchise depth chart is lacking.

Having zero say seems stupid.

not having discs is worth it for me too. it may seem lazy but not having a buch of stupid cases around, discs being scratched, disc noise, all make it worthwhile. ill be playing fifa and my buddy texts me asking for a game of nhl. easy, hit the ps button, and switch over to nhl with fuss no muss.

I prefer having discs for everything. I can trade or sell a disc. Can't do that with a download.

So will EA update all the uniforms, with St.Louis getting new home and aways - pits new 3rds, tampa is coming out with a new 3rd

Some games are worth keeping digitally though, especially if you can find sales on game currency.

Depends on what you mean. The gameplay is fine. The modes are going to be patched in hopefully within the next couple of months. And the other modes will get features patched in as well. Pretty sure the rosters will be updated like before.
