The problem with Flat Earthers is they ignore evidence, and when you present them with new evidence they focus on debunking it, typically with non-truths. There is no point in debating them, becuase they are clearly wrong, but will never acknowledge it. They just dig deeper.
When the presented facts conflict with your narrative they arent wrong, they just arent 'deep enough.'

If you thought this season would have a happy ending, you haven't been paying attention.
First of all- let me say that I do indeed believe the earth is a sphere. However I enjoy a good debate. There is a satellite in orbit of the sun about 900,000 miles from earth, so it essentially always shows the earth in daylight. https://epic.gsfc.nasa.gov/
Those pictures have clouds photoshopped on. (You can tell if you cycle through the photos as they use the same cloud formations over and over.) I get that it makes a better visual, but why is the only non-photoshopped picture of the earth the one taken by Apollo 17 on their way back from the moon? I like seeing the shots from the ISS where the earth is really just a backdrop to what is going on with the spacewalk.
That's my problem. Sure- flat earth is full of holes and flaws in logic. But point out those flaws and why they are wrong.
Sure, I get that, I just think a lot of the pushback is from people who are so accustomed to being in the Information Age that you can literally research the facts, backed up by significant piles of actual information, any time you want. Whereas when some of these major conspiracies started it was sort of a word-of-mouth, misinformation-breeding-ignorance cycle that trapped these people.
Conspiracy theories are based on an inner anxiety regarding the way the world works, people unsure or uncomfortable with the way things are and instead look towards a deeper, darker reality that explains their lack of power in the current world (when really, that’s just a part of life, you don’t need some dark force conspiring against you).
The fact is, these arguments aren’t compelling, they don’t make good points with some bad conclusions, these people aren’t some big minded thinkers akin to Newton and Tesla. It’s important to see flat-earthers and people like them for what they are: small minded people who are purposely ignorant in order to comfort their anxieties about the world. I’m all for debate if we want to point out things that anyone could find on their own, but I don’t believe that ignorance should be mistaken for creativity.
Every "Flat Earther" I have met IRL was a troll who got a kick out of making people get fired up. My guess is that 90% of Flat Earthers are the same. They think it's funny that people believe them.
That said Anti vaccine folks are a menice to public health.
The thing is, every point of mass has gravity that acts in all directions. Given enough time and enough material, those small masses start to gobble up smaller bits of dust and then rock nearby. All the while, gravity still acts in all directions, very spherical like, that is why large bodies in space that are near any kind of debris they can collect becomes spherical. Not some flat disk.
according to flat earth theory it is spiraling downwards very quickly.. thus creating a gravity like effect. Also on top of a turtle or something like that

I thought the earth itself was moving upwards (which is why things appear to fall/be attracted to the earth).
Who knows, such inspiring minds with new ideas, unafraid of unconventional thought. Magnets!

I calculated this out and the earth would increase it's velocity by the speed of light roughly every year, proving relativity is just another lie invented by the man to keep us down.

This is what I found the most interesting when getting into flat earth, that even if an idea adds up to being a bunch of nonsense, if you can give people enough compelling ideas and arguments, they can hang tight to that idea indefinitely and you can see the types of mental gymnastics they go through to pull that off. It becomes easier to evaluate the human nature aspect since the science aspect is so obvious.

Flat Earthers aren't unique in this.
Basically most conspiracy theorists are really good at creating narratives that make sense to them, they also rely on not having to defend debunking efforts, mainly because the whole thing is that they debate in a defensive style, a prove my crazy conspiracy theory is false, then ignoring the facts and circling back to the same point over and over again.
You look at the tenuous strings in any conspiracy theory.
The Jews rule the world based on created fiction over one family, the book the Protocals of the Elder Zion (Written by Russian's to discredit the Jews), Nazi Propaganda that they believe to this day.
The 9/11 Conspiracy theory - Built around false science (Super Thermite) and a grand conspiracy theory that when held up to the light of the day is ludicris, and shaky or outright dishonest witnesses (The guy who claimed he saw a missile fly into the pentagon, but turned out that he was nowhere near the pentagon that day)
Darpa weather control, Lizard men, Pearl Harbour conspiracy theories.
The average conspiracy theorist wants to be the smartest guy in the room, the man with the secrets or the ultimate knowledge who can see through these incredible plots. And they hold onto that no matter what.
Then they are fed by pieces of crap like Alex Jones and others who make a fortune writing books of garbage, or spreading lies, and they go from convention to convention collecting appearance fees and autograph fees.
(I wish I thought of that, because I think I'd be awesome at it)

I think it's a bit disingenuous to to equate all conspiracies, I think there is a lot of weight to banker and military industrial complex conspiracies, seeing as these people have the greatest motivation and ability to pull off conspiracies. Most people will agree that bankers and oligarchs are evil and serve their own interests, but when you try and get into the minutia of their goals and tactics, people are awful quick to start throwing out tinfoil hat accusations.
For example, it's not too hard to convince someone that the petro dollar has been the primary influence of US foreign policy, but trying to break it down any further than that and you'll quickly find yourself branded as a conspiracy nut.

That can be applied to religious as well as climate change zealots, etc. There's no shortage of people that cannot accept reality.
