I don't even understand how they stay on the road. Most of them are jacked up so much they break all sorts of laws, in addition to the pollution. If I were a cop I'd be pulling every one of those jackholes over, every time and ticketing everything I could.

Today's / this month's gear grinder. Guy a few spots over from me constantly pounds his keyboard keys when he types; like using about 2-4 times the amount of force required. It is super loud and intrusive. I don't know if he just hates his job or what.

I have a very loud mechanical keyboard, and for the most part its fine because I largely work alone, but I bought the same thing for the home office and, yeah, I get it, its loud.
Some people dont like that. I think it sounds like I'm using a typewriter which I think is neat.
But there are days when, for whatever reason, I keep mis-typing something and I get angry...and then I type angry!

Most fires are caused by idiots.
I don't think people respect how easily you can start a fire.
A hot quad exhaust in tall dry grass is all it takes.

Ran into an old acquaintance from CP today. It was at a work event and I didn't feel comfortable saying hi and telling him where I knew him from. Kinda wish I had though.

So... this is all true. And Fleury and Sale' are conspiracy nutters for sure.
...but...
Way back in the day, I was a treeplanter for several summers. Several guys on the crew told over drinks/drugs around the campfire about how they would sometimes intentionally light forest fires as a way to find quick high paying employment as forest firefighters.
They also mentioned that at a certain point, they would qualify for workers comp at 80% and then get "injured" for the duration of the year. This part of the story does lend credence IMO - I'm sure most of us who worked labor at some point met "those guys" who were just looking for the next easy cheque.
I'm sure most fires are accidental. But there absolutely are those that are intentionally set for personal gain.
Just not by members of the govt.

I think one of the big "The government is setting the fires" nuts actually got busted for starting a bunch.
So yeah it seems to happen intentionally

Just got a letter and no-show invoice from my GP's office that I missed an appointment Tuesday. I thought that was weird, because I have no record of it, plus was just there on April 24th, and my confirmed follow-up is at the end of July, so I figured it was simply a mistake and I phoned.
Well blow me down, the receptionist apparently doesn't make mistakes, and seemed offended I would impugn her reputation or character. I tried walking her through the timeframe logic, nope. Asked what the appointment was for, she didn't know or say, I pointed out I've never been so much as late to an appointment at that clinic--or any of the half dozen others I've been to at Associate--since 2001, she wasn't going to hear it.
So I guess I'm stuck paying $50, or bringing it up with the doctor himself in July.

Honestly that sucks I would just be careful with how you speak with them (not saying you're being rude) but with the doctor shortage you just don't want them to not allow you to see that doctor anymore.
My MIL had that happen to her where she kept complaining about the doctor not caring about her problems blah blah blah and then the doctor sent her an email saying she is no longer a patient at that clinic.
I don't even have a family doctor and doesn't seem like I'll have one soon.

My gear-grinder is a pushy salesperson. First the guy emailed me several times and just dropped by my office “because he was in town”. I wasn’t there when he did, but I was unimpressed. I just think it’s rude, but whatever…he has to make a living and I get it. He left some things, I recycled them and life goes on.
Today, after several more emails, he used my calendly link to book a meeting. I couldn’t believe the audacity. We’ve never met, never spoken and it’s a pure sales call for a product I don’t use. Who does that?
And just for a little context, I’ve had this link for probably 5-6 years. This is the second time it’s been used by a salesperson. Most people seem to understand that the link is there for meetings pertaining to my practice not to make it easier for a salesman.

I had a guy from LGFG fashion house contact me through LinkedIn when I was just starting out in the corporate world. Kept pushing and following up, wouldn’t take no for an answer.
I finally told him he could come in to the office and show me some swatches, but I wasn’t looking to purchase. He comes in shows me swatches and I say looks great I’ll let you know when I’m interested in purchasing.
He gave me a long exacerbated sigh like I wasted his time and then high tailed it out of there.
F that guy

Yeah that's kind of at the forefront of my mind, and likely why I'm probably just going to pay.
I've only had this family doctor for 6 or 7 years after he bought my old GP's practice (or however it works) - but he insists I go in every three months to refill my prescriptions. So like clockwork, there I am every 90 days (and for some reason May 14th) while any specialist gives 37 refills and tells you to get lost for a year unless something comes up in the meantime.
