I'm running to the US this weekend to get the new booster. It's because the Canadian rollout is too late for a trip I'm planning on taking in October (and I want the best protection beforehand).

This, it’s like getting the flu shot now, it’s a seasonal booster. Think of it that way and start communicating it as such.

My 19 year old grandson has been told by his “friends “ that the latest vaccine doesn’t work and if you get Covid after being vaccinated you get sicker than ever. I am not going to waste my breath on him this time, we’ve had this conversation after every rollout.

I have had every shot and am looking forward to the next one.

To me it's a question of leadership. In general, should people get the vaccine or not? If so, then leadership should lead by example.

Of course you are right, but this will just be an unfortunate rehashing of the COVID vaccine debate. Herd protection through the use of immunization has saved more lives in the past 50 years than any other health message.

Unfortunatley we know how this government will approach the upcoming covid outbreak. What will be the excuse/messaging when the hospitals are screwed up again?

It's hard to say "don't worry what others are doing" when we're all paying into the same system that can handle only so much capacity for patient care, all the while people continually making bad medical and bad lifestyle choices around illness prevention and physical health.

I don't want the system I have to rely on going down or being kneecapped because people are making preventable choices that bring that system down.

I think people understand that they need boosters for different strains of Covid. Just as they understand that you need seasonal flu shots - which governments promote every year. Around 40 per cent of Canadians, and 70 per sent of seniors get seasonal flu shots. It’s likely that we’ll see similar patterns with Covid boosters going forward.

They will blame the federal government, duh. The zealots will blame Jews, the WEF, and Bill Gates.

The premier said she has a strong immune system so she’ll be fine and the health minister parroted her words. These are the people (read: COVID deniers) in charge of public health policy.
