Yeah they’re pretty great. I just found out they had a new one when it popped up on Spotify.

My dad was in need of a record player so I gave him mine just so I could buy a new one. I set the new record player up tonight and the first thing I played was the 12" extended remix of "Big Decision".

^^^^ The Thermals' last couple of albums were a bit disappointing compared to their earlier output. But around 10 or 12 years ago, these guys were near the top of my list of most loved bands. I will always remember my buddy and I seeing their blistering show in the fall of 2007 at Broken City and having the time of our lives.

So I've just discovered Virgin Magnetic Material on SoundCloud.

"Virgin Magnetic Material is a remix project by Shai Vardi, a musician and artist based in Tel Aviv. Virgin Magnetic Material is a definition from the electronic world, describing core or shield material that has never been magnetized."

First introduction to him was his Party and Bull#### Mix (duh, I forgot about the bad word filter. I think you can figure out what letters to fix in the URL)

He does really interesting, silky, deep mixes with well known songs. Everything from classic rock to rap, to top 40. I'm not usually a fan of mixing popular songs (there are rare exceptions) but he hits it out of the park a lot. That being said, there are definitely some misses.

One of my favourites so far is his mix of Fly Like an Eagle.

There will be a new Wussy album next month. In anticipation of it, I listened to Wussy's 2011 album "Strawberry" last night. Great album!

I have Airborne saved on Spotify, but I've never really explored any of their other music, despite really loving the song.
Is there sound pretty consistent throughout their releases? I see Airborne is off their first album.

I had no clue such a fantastic band existed so close (Vancouver).
The lead singer reminds me of Frankie Stubbs.

I think Wussy's output has been consistently strong. I'd recommend starting with "Attica!" and work your way through the discography from there.

Chuck Cleaver's previous band before forming Wussy was called Ass Ponys. Another terrific and forgotten band. They are worth checking out too.
