Morley is very gentle and only comes to visit when we say so.
When we try to let Nolan "cry it out", Morley will come and nudge us.
As if to say, "Hey! go pickup your Son! I would help if I had opposable thumbs!"

I figured this is as good a place as any to ask this question.
I have a Nikon D80, I seem to have put the camera into some sort of inverse mode.
When its in Aperature mode the Shutter speed is set to 5 minutes when it should be set to 1/3 ish.
When in Shutter Speed mode its the same thing, the Aperature is set way off base.
When I set it to manual I can set both and everything is fine. I tried resetting the camera and turning it on and off and pulling the battery and its the same thing in S and A model.
I am new to the DSLR game and I am at a loss, I would hate to take a walk to the Camera Store and look like an idiot rather than just maybe sounding like an idiot on a flames message board Thanks

My 1st DSLR was the D80, great camera. I really put it through it's paces.
In Shutter mode you choose the shutter speed and the camera automatically adjusts aperture.
In Aperture mode you choose the aperture and the camera automatically adjusts shutter speed for optimal exposure, the camera defaults to the biggest aperture (if using a zoom lens)
Say you have an 18-200mm lens f/3.5-5.6 and you zoom out to 200mm the largest the aperture can be is f/5.6.
I typically shoot in aperture mode, as I don't need to control my shutter speed in most of my regular shooting.
Also, go create a flickr account and ask any and all questions in the groups that are gear specific. Some of the members are always around to help.

Also, have you updated your firmware to the latest version?

Make sure you haven't inadvertently adjusted your exposure compensation.
To the bottom right of the on/off switch is a button with a +/-. Hold that button and scroll your back wheel. That number, unless you're compensating, should be at 0 (or whatever you feel is right for your camera, might be +0.3EV for a random example).
On my camera, I usually shoot at +0.7EV when in aperture mode. It's a personal preference thing.
Basically, what the compensation does is it tells the camera to take the information gathered from your scene and come up with some values based on available light etc. With the EV, you're telling the camera to take those values and then adjust it by another +/- the EV you determine.
So for example, my camera always tends to shoot a tad dark and underexposed. I tell it to +0.7 of a stop up from what it thinks it should shoot at so it brightens the exposure. Does that make sense?
If your EV is at +3.0, you're compensating three full stops, which is why you might see some drastic numbers.
When you're in aperture mode, the camera will keep your f-stop the same and adjust the shutter speed automatically to try and get the right exposure it reads from the sensor.
However, it won't adjust you ISO. So check to see what that is at first.
The same goes for shutter priority. It will adjust your aperture automatically to try and get your ideal exposure based on the shutter speed you predetermine.
I too started on the D80. Try those and see if that changes anything.

Beijing area, Xian area and Chengdu area. It wasn't a particularly long trip, but I found parts of China to be exhausting. There was plenty to see in Xian, but the pollution, traffic and people really wore on me. I think I would like to spend more time in Sichuan because the lifestyle seemed to be more relaxed.
The first picture you quoted was at the Summer Palace and the second was at the 798 Art District, both in Beijing.
