When I was coaching I'd go to the nearest bar after the game. Because I didn't have a kid on the team that I had to take home, so I'd have my laptop and I had to write-up and submit a post-game report to the club.

All of the kids and the parents had to sign a deal at the beginning of the season. You do not speak to me about the game until 24 hours after the game. If you do...my bar tab is on you.

It works. I think parents only broke that rule twice in 10 years and both times they regretted it.

So i phoned my older son who's heart was broken by hockey and pretty much hates it now. He was a hell of a player. Bedard could not get around him. As bros they are competitive ans not all that close but he is gonna phone him because he is looked up too. He's been there done that. Gaudreau story is cruel to small players. False hope.
