Raiders are releasing Damon Arnette ... that was one of the 1st rounders from the Mack trade.
Raiders fans better hope those last few drafts were completely on Gruden and not on Mayock.

I expect we will find out at the end of the season as I expect the team will release Clelin Ferrell as well in the offseason. If I was Mark Davis I would be asking a lot of questions about who was in agreement on these players. Arnette was a 2nd round talent and should never have been drafted in the first round. If Mayock comes back next season it's safe to say these were Gruden picks. It's why the Washington email leak was the best thing that could ever happen to the Raiders. Gruden is the worst talent evaluator in NFL circles.

Don’t bury the lede, he’s not being released for football reasons. There’s video out there of him brandishing guns and making death threats. Sounds like the Raiders should have hired Urban instead of letting Jacksonville get him.

That was the final straw but he's also not very good as he wasn't starting for the Raiders when he was healthy and I'm sure he would have been cut in the offseason even if the video doesn't come out.

there's a bit of a theme there in their 2020 draft class though. Both 1st rounders (Ruggs and Arnette) ####ed up off-the-field and were released as a result, one of their 3rd rounders (Lynn Bowden Jr) came with character concerns too and was traded to Miami without even playing for them. I remember that leadership and professionalism were things that led them to choose Ferell so early, so it's crazy that they completely whiffed on that 2020 class in that regard.

Mark Davis even said it after gruden resigned, personnel decisions went to mayock now, he even specifically said he has 51% control now vs the 49% he had before
I dont think the drafting has been bad outside the 1st round busts. I'm sure Gruden was much more focused on that area over the later rounds where mayock and the scouts had more say. But they have done well with crosby, renfro, mullen, Edwards, moehrig, hobbs, moreau all in the last 3 years. 2018 after Miller was just a debacle of monumental proportions
