I haven't read much of this thread but has anyone had the balls to admit they voted for the nut case Lord?

So for my fellow latte-sipping urban elitists, this is an overall defeat, right?
In Nenshi's interview on Global he said that the developers lost on all fronts, or something to that effect.

What else would he tell reporters? "Voters told us we suck"?

I think Harper will be better than Hodges was in ward 1.

Apparently he can't do math, whether taxes or otherwise.

... except that building more sprawling suburbs is a terrible transportation plan.

I think this whole developer thing is overstated. They arent going to revisit funding and just enhance subsidies. Nenshi did a good job of fixing most of the issue in his last term.

One thing Nenshi needs to do day one is mend fences with the newly elected guys. Otherwise he will risk being block voted against.

Chu's platform, on density at least, seems ok.

Well, couple candidates anyways.

Jon Lord was a horrible candidate for mayor. I can't get behind the thinking of tossing a vote his way. Even if I can't stand Nenshi is he a much better potential (and current) mayor then Lord would be. I can't stand crazy Druh in ward 7 but I understand that she's the better candidate then anyone else in this riding.

Lord is a total nutjob, even on basic issues and facts he couldn't come up with answers. Hell even when he did, they were wrong.

lol, John Mar is sore about his loss and trying to hint dirty tactics were played. He claims that elections are a "bloodsport" and he is just proud he ran a clean campaign

This was not Nenshi vs Lord. The Lord votes were more of a protest vote. At least that is how I see it.

Dirty Tactics? Meh....I Must say Woolley did constantly attack Mar (and not always getting the facts right) but facts don't matter in an election.

Mar lost cause Woolley served beer at his HQ. Bottom line.

I like Nenshi now, and voted for him today. I just wish he wouldn't tilt his head and close his eyes when he talks. I find that troubling.

He was his own worst enemy in the media during his tenure. His constituent's are smart enough to filter out campaign propaganda from fact. He only has himself to blame.
