Maybe my Fibre modem is shot. Weird that it works for 10 minutes then fails.

Could be. The wifi in mine died. Service guy said that the gray ones were extremely unreliable and had all sorts of issues.

Service started working again in its own but Shaw tech did some things and replaced the modem anyway. No complaints.

My new Shaw box is now giving an error that Rogers Xfinity is only available in Canada and my network appears to be outside of Canada. While I was just sitting here, haven't touched a thing on the network in weeks.
This new Shaw modem and cable box they made me get is a freaking disaster.

Is anyone having an issue with Shaw's mail server? I have never bothered to set up access to the Shaw server via an email client and have always just used Shaw Webmail but that portal seems to be down this morning. The login page opens but it can't get into the account.

Looks like Shaw has launched split screen capability for the NHL playoffs starting today. I'm looking forward to giving it a try during the late games.

Quick question for the Roger's users here. I switched to Telus TV sometime ago. Much like my previous experience with Shaw/Roger's, I like some stuff and dislike others. My major problem is Telus has a major delay for live events. I will get a score mobile alert for a goal and then proceed to wait 40+ seconds to watch this happen. It's been like this since I changed over and we keep getting told fixes are on the way. Last night I timed it and my feed was 1:05 behind the Score app. Which I'm sure has a delay in and of itself. I recognize nothing is truly live and could handle a small delay. But this is too much.
So, I'm pondering switching back to Rogers. Considering sports is one of my last reasons for not cutting the cable, this is unacceptable to me. Is there any major delay or issues with live sports on Roger's? Or any other major concerns I should consider before potentially switching back. Thanks in advance.

There is definitely a delay, though I haven't measured it. I was watching hockey last night in my garage (Fire Stick) and the Oilers scored, and then I came into my house and saw the goal again on my actual Shaw box connected to the TV. So at least a 20-30 second delay between those two devices, and I have no idea how much of a delay from "live". I would imagine that it is similar to Telus, but couldn't prove it. I was actually surprised that the Fire Stick was earlier than the actual Shaw box.
I am a frequent "time shifter" (record & start late to catch up), so my notifications are all off for sports things. I just have the reminder of the game starting for the Flames (or on a game-by-game basis if watching to watch another team) and that's it.
I am guessing that it isn't so much notifications for you (who needs notifications when you're watching it), but rather checking stats throughout the game. So I get it, but I don't have a solution for you unfortunately.

Thanks. I appreciate the reply. I'm on a pretty good deal with Telus. So, if I'm not going to see a major improvement, I may as well see it out and look at things when the contract is actually up.

I am on Telus, and when watching the actual channel I haven't noticed a delay. I do notice what Jimmy is seeing, where I have the game on a streaming device as opposed to watching the actual Sportsnet channel.
I also have an antenna setup in the garage so the next came that is also on CBC I can try to compare all of them.

Ok- did some testing tonight and compared with the NHL app.
Telus appears to be about 8 seconds behind the app
Bell satellite appears to be about 4 seconds faster than the app
OTA TV is about 9 seconds faster than the app.
So discounting tachyon TV feeds- that means that NHL app is at least 10 seconds behind the live game- and Telus is closer to 20 seconds behind the live game.

Better late then never, but Rogers/Shaw has finally released a TV app for the Apple TV. AirPlay was always supported in the iPhone/iPad app, but now there’s a native app on the Apple TV.
This will be handy when travelling as sometimes we take an Apple TV with us for hotel downtime. There are some “in home” restrictions (just like the iOS, Fire stick), but those disappear if you’re a nerd and use a VPN and travel router to tunnel your traffic back through your home.
