Didn't he help Sam and Gilly get across the wall? He was riding on a caribou or elk or something and he helped them escape from a bunch of white walkers.

Episode 9, The Dance of Dragons, has a "Baratheon General" cast along with Stannis and Ser Davos so maybe we are going to see something major happen on that front.
Greyjoy's sister is also cast, so that is interesting.
Episode 10 is called Mother's Mercy, so we can bet that will be Cersei walking along the path naked and being rescued by Ser Robert Strong. Then the show will end with John getting stabbed, classic misdirection with the title.
Balon Greyjoy is also cast for that episode.

Who is coldhands then? Is he the guy that helped Bran and friends find the raven in the books? Do we know who that guy is that helped Sam? It's been a while since I've read the books.
