That'd be rad, but with him already making an impact (all 6'7" of him) I wonder if Dallas would be into that subtraction from their current efforts.
If not? That's where I'd look at 2027 1st + Hemming + Schmidt? I even wonder if it wouldn't be more along the lines of 1st + Hemming + Schmidt + 2nd + conditional pick, as that's what is closer to what Boston paid for H. Lindholm - and I'm hopeful that's the return we'll be looking at.
By all accounts Dallas is looking to be hyper aggressive to build a legit Cup run, so even if they're playing smaller roles now, I don't know if we see Bourque or Bischel coming off the roster (with Bischel being the clear belle of the ball).
The patience on Andersson (outside of the LA offer, which was a no go for very fair reasons) looks like it may pay off significantly.

I wish I could say the same.
The next 6 months will determine clearly what direction the team is taking:
-trade Anderson for futures
-trade 1 of Coleman or Kadri for futures (ideally both)
-make space on the team for youth
-no UFA signings
=rebuild
Anything less than that, and the team is still aiming for the mushy middle.

Isn't Bischel on the shelf?
Damn, Bishelf was right there...

Yep, for a 'significant amount of time'.
...which may make Dallas even more aggressive.

There will always be league minimum (or close) UFA signings. You still have to ice both an NHL and an AHL team.

I could see Andersson signing an extension with them as well.

Yeah I think we've seen from various sources/rumours that Dallas and Vegas are two spots Raz would extend.

Which could make trading him in a package for Andersson work for Dallas. They are not subtracting from their current team to get Andersson. They are subtracting from their future team (when Bischel is healthy). Andersson is playing the best hockey of his career and I imagine Dallas has as good of a chance as any team to get Andersson to sign an extension (they are contenders and they are a no tax state). Bischel is a good bottom pair defenceman but does not project (at this point) be a top pairing defenceman that does everything well like Andersson does. I think Andersson for Bischel + 2027 1st round pick is a fair trade.

Would that be a good thing if our goal is to lose to get a better draft pick?

He said no to LA, so I wouldn't think so unless it's to win.

They should know Danault doesn't really move the needle for them either, he had a whole 4 pts in their fluky 22 game cup run, personally I think Kapanen is better anyway.
They know Kadri would make them a contender for the next couple of years, question is how much of a cost is worth it to them?

I thought he was more of a Backlund type penalty killer for them? Taking all the D zone draws etc. But I may be mistaken.

Flames have not made guys available in the sense that they’re actively shopping them.
Teams know Calgarys situation and Kadri having to approve some of the destinations, so teams haven’t been lining up with their best offer in hand throwing them out at Calgary like a dartboard… they’re more so waiting for Calgary to call back and start the bidding war.
Andersson situation is different than both Kadri and Coleman, he’s available and teams know it, but it comes down to extension or not, and Andersson has let a few inquiring teams know he’d rather go UFA than extend with them.

A bit annoying on the Ras front, but not surprising, nor do I blame him
