Pure speculation here, but I think something big is about to happen.

My boss came in and said "you're checking your phone again? I think something drastic is going to happen"

I was like, ya me too. That's why I'm checking.

I'll keep you posted

ah, I'm really not thinking that way......only wondering when the f are we making at least 1 move before Xmas then 1 before the Olympics, and 1 or 2 at the deadline.......

Surely management isn't hoping to make the dance still.......or hesitating. Lots of press about Flames willing to listen but not actively shopping.....the NOT ACTIVELY shopping part still bugs me....

Why would the team put an artificial deadline on having to make a trade? I think the absolute logjam in the standings is hurting the Flames more than anything right now as well.

I still think only 2 of Kadri, Coleman, and Andersson will be traded.

Sure sounds like a decent amount of noise around the Canucks. Saw on insider trading the notion trading Hughes this year is better for the Canucks as the full NMC kicks in the summer and Hughes will have full say va now when they can send him anywhere for at least 2 playoff runs.

We are 6-2-1 since Don Maloney came out with his comments.

We just need Don to do an interview any time we start losing and we will be a playoff team in no time! And won't need to sell.

Worked for the Coyotes.

Maybe I am giving them too much credit, but seeing the results, maybe a little akin to the Salt Lake City 2002 rant that took the all the media attention and took pressure off the team.

Still in Mexico, mucho siesta!

Nothing imminent or even close, just teams talking.
MTL knows it’s going to take one of their big prospects if they want Kadri, otherwise they can deal a B/C prospect and settle for ROR or Dannault, but preference is obviously Kadri, and not just for MTL he’s probably the top rumoured available guy out there and lots of teams keeping in touch waiting for that green light.

Would not shock me in the least to see the Habs get Danault back. Organization knows him really well. Went on their cup run with him. He played well and the parting was amicable if I'm not mistaken.

And would be cheaper than Kadri.

Nah, it's basically due to Kuznetsov.

If Bean is hurt, hence the Brz call up, I find it interesting that they didn't call up one of the more veteran Ds from the Wranglers like Miromanov.

Flames activating the young prospects to fill in for injuries instead of the veterans....I like it!

Yah there is a lot a noise coming out of Vancouver that Hughes could be traded this season. I hope they don’t . I want Ras to be the #1 d man option on the market.

Thanks Royle. When you say “green light”, do you mean from Conroy to be willing to make the trade at all or do you mean a green light from the acquiring team to make a big enough offer to acquire Kadri? As in, maybe an acquiring team wants to wait until closer to the trade deadline to have more certainty (i.e. the “green light”) in their playoff position before making that level of trade? There’s more parity in the NHL this season than ever before so I could see lots of teams wanting a better picture of how their team stacks up before committing big assets to get Kadri.

Montreal wood be smart to aggressively go for a Kadri trade this year. The east is wide open. Acquiring Kadri early would also give more time for him to make an impact on the team… maybe make some separation in the standings. I saw recently the majority of Montreal’s losses this year are against teams with above average size. They could use a guy like Kadri that plays a heavy, aggressive game.

Ughhh. The green light should already be turned on. For sale sign should be in front lawn. At Kadris age you don’t want to take a chance that Father Time steps in next season.

I get waiting on the green light, we're within striking distance of the playoffs and you can't trade your top centre right now. Better to wait until at least after the Christmas roster freeze and see if we've improved our standing even further. You have to reward the players in the room for their efforts.

If the Flames are listening, they are waiting for a team to blow their socks off with an offer. They know they hold all the best trade cards, they just need to play them the right way to get the best possible returns. The team probably won't make a trade before Christmas out of respect for the players and their families. But regardless of what they say publicly, I'm quite confident that Flames management aren't hesitating due to any delusional belief that the team will make the playoffs.

What are we rewarding for? This is a team that, short of the last 4 days, has been in last place in the NHL standings.

Unless this is a sarcastic post that's lost on me, but I'm not in favor of handing out participation medals.
