Not sure if Conroy and the Flames still observe the Brian Burke extended Christmas trade freeze (2 weeks prior to the actual NHL Christmas freeze), but they would be in that right now if they do.

It just doesn't seem very Conroy like to move a vet this close, especially one with a family. I think he is actually quite like Burke in his approach to management.

No you're right, he adopted that policy as well. Unless Ras was all like "yeah, I'll go whenever" its probably not happening.

I think it would be after this week, but this week feels fair game if a team comes with a can't refuse offer.
It's still 16 days until Christmas and 12 days until the official trade Freeze, NHL board of governor meetings are Today and Tomorrow.
If they were to move Andersson before Friday I don't think that's really the end of the World.
My guess is that January is still more likely, but I don't think it would be prohibited for Conroy to make a trade this week.
Some of these Eastern Conference teams are going to want to move... 15 teams at .536 or better, only Buffalo really in a position that they probably feel not in a position to add ... the East teams are going to be looking to add to get a jump on the other teams in that conference.

Never say never. But it would have to be a good trade that the other GM said would no longer be there after January 1.
