Talked to the manager of Pete's before the game that shall not be mentioned, and he is willing to work with us in a sponsorship deal.
We have to decide what we want. Both food/drink deals and money were discussed and he is fine with either option. No specific amount was discussed though I did throw $500 out there in mention of deals I've had in the past.
Is everybody going to support the pub after our games on Sundays?
Would we prefer cheaper prices every time or a lump sum of money?
A sponsorship deal may come with a desire on his part to put something on our jerseys, bear that in mind.
Nota Bena: The 1300 collected from our 13 players does not cover all of our fees, the overrun on jerseys (190/2 for SW share), and the balls we need ($5.99 - $8.99 I am guessing each X 12).
ps good turnout for The Game That Shall Not Be Mentioned, I think we had 9. Enjoyed the red beer. Poker. Beer. Arguing about Tanguay. Beer.

I don't have a problem with him putting a pete's peanut pub patch on our shirt sleeves. I'm a bit of a corporate whore like that. We can get the silkscreen place to put it on our shirts when they are doing the logo and numbers. Would he cover the cost to do that as well though or would it come out of the $500? Either way I have no problem with giving Pete's my business on game days in exchange for some cash.
My vote is to put the $500 in to cover the fee's, shirts and balls... Any leftovers could buy us a bat-bag and a bat or cover a few cases of beer.
Last few questions about the shirts...
1) What kind of numbers do we want on the back? (Solid and Outline are the same price, 2 Color is more)
2) If people want names on the back that is fine I just need to get money for them ($2.64 + $2.64 + GST = Say $6.00) before we put the shirts into production. They are put on a name-bar and then sewn onto the shirts. If everyone is going to get them and we get the Pete's sponsorship we could possibly include names using Pete's money.
Final Note: We should get the shirts from Team Skyline late next week or early the first week of may. So any changes (Pete's logo, name-bar) have to be in by then.

I think a couple of players still need to pony up their fees (you know who you are) . I don't have an issue if we need to kick in a little more to cover jersey costs. I will pay for the balls on Saturday so maybe that will cover my extra.

Yes to Pete's Pub. $500. Patch on our jersey.
I'd like a name-bar = TROUTMAN
Solid numbers.

By the way Rhettzky, I like both styles of numbers but I am leaning to the outline type.

I like the solid numbers.
Yes, to Pete's for money.
Name on the back of my shirt should be Rink Rat.
Let me know how much more money is needed from me.
Also, I have not recieved a copy of a schedule yet.
Are we playing on May 11th and 18th?
I should be able to make the 11th, but I will be in Toronto on the 18th after that I should be at ALL the games.

RR, I won't have the schedule until Saturday but as I understand it we play a double header every Sunday night from May 4th to July 20th.
Also, secret weapons are not allowed time off to go away even if it is to glorious Toronto.

It means you are short $95 and if you want name bars it will be an additional $6 per shirt. Money has to be in before we send them off for production which could be late next week or early first week in may.

Yes, however if we're also being forced to have Pete's Pub on our jerseys, shouldn't we reap some of the benefit of that as well? I think the general consensus on our team was that we didn't want name bars... But if you're using the Pete's money and putting another logo on our jerseys, wouldn't it be fair to cover our overruns as well? Unless you're going to have the silkscreener only do the SW team's jerseys with the second logo...

I don't think you guys will be involved in the Pete's pub sponsorship at all. Only because your team will probably not be going to the pub at all after your games. Also, we won't put the logo's on your half of the jerseys. If you did get a pub in the neighbourhood of your games you could get them to supply a logo and we could put it on your half of the shirts if you wanted. Would have to act fast though.

I say split the money between the two teams. The bar owner might be more willing to kick the dough in if he knows he's getting twice the advertising.

Most sponsorships hinge on the fact that the team commits to show up to the pub after games and not as heavily on the logo on the shirts. He makes his money back because for 20 odd sundays 10-13 guys and girls show up and drink in his pub after a game. So Central would be better suited to find a pub close to their home field.
