No, it would just blend into the colour of the jersey.

Wouldn't mind red on red for an alternate but not for a home. White C looks the best in my opinion. Wish they'd ditch the black one already.

They need to ditch black in the uniform altogether. Unless they go Horse Head again (which is still better than current sets). Also, as stated numerous times over the years, they need to ditch the flags on the shoulders. And if they want to go look for a new alternate set, why not do something with the Atlanta "A"?

Or they could go with a variation of something like this as an alternate

Funny when the Flames moved to Calgary when I was a little guy, all you could buy for a jersey was a sears thing in sweatsheet material that had the red C stitched on to a red jersey.

Odds looking thing I've ever seen but man I wore it every day.

Still do!

I agree that no black would be best but if they use it very minimally it can add nice contrast. It shouldn't be the second most prominent colour after red though.

To me, red on red looks more like a practice jersey.

I'm okay with red on red, as long as the white outline is visible enough.

I'm not suggesting I'd want them back because I think they are on the poor side too, but they are still better than the current monstrosity.

I don't mind the red-on-red as a third perhaps, but those stripes at the bottom look cheap.

I'm a real minority here. I have no issue with black in the jersey, I am not fussed about tiny flags on the shoulders. I don't have an issue with retro uniforms, but the main ones IMO are better than the pedestals, the V bottoms, or the horseheads.

IMCSO they are also better than the present Ducks, Coyotes, Avs, Oilers, Panthers, Kings, Wild, Sens, and Canucks. And not worse than any others either.

Love the red on red. Reminds me of these, which I also liked a lot:

I don't see the point of the white C, as opposed to gold/yellow.
