Do they like the courses icy for snow boarding as they do in ski racing?

Are the second qualifiers going through? I've enjoyed boarder cross more than anything else so far and was hoping to catch some today. Anyone have any idea what time the quarterfinals will start? (for a guy at work with CTV online stuff blocked).

How much effing delays have there been since these started? I think they should just move this effing event to another day.

Gotta feel sorry for these snowboarders who spent 4 years of training to end up in a race like this where luck plays a huge part. Seems Mickey Mouse to me.

I agree, It's been the most intense event so far.

As for the 2nd QF, The annoncers are telling us "yes", "No", "Maybe", "yes", "No", "Maybe", "yes", "No", "Maybe", "yes", "No", "Maybe", "yes", "No", "Maybe", "yes", "No", "Maybe",......About every 5 minutes!

What do you expect from a baseball announcer.

I felt the same with the Men's Downhill yesterday. It's really difficult to get behind a sport where there is a huge advantage to the athlete depending at when they made their one and only run. Guys that were going later in the field were slowed down quite a bit by the softening conditions.

According to the weather hisotry it was +8/+4 February 16th, 2009 in Vancouver, BC and today is what +9/+2. Not a huge leap one way or the other.

To add to that this Olympics is one of the latest starting dates in the history of the Winter games, with MOST starting a week earlier. IMO when you have a non-winter city hosting the games you would want to make it as deep into the so called winter months in that city, not the days going into early spring.

Who knows it is easy to talk about it now but I don't think anyone who has lived in or close to Vancouver are surprised by the weather the city is having in mid to late February.

These conditions and organizers are making a mockery out these 2010 Olympics. The athletes that have been victims of the conditions must be heart broken.

Are you guys sure you want to see another run today? Cancel the damn thing and reschedule it to a day where the snow and the course is up to par.

The difference this year there was barely any snow to begin with in the season, usually the mountains are snowed in so much from December and January this is rarely an issue in February.

You would think that may be an option, but the longer they wait.. the worse it may get. The venue that this event is at is operating on trucked in snow as it is.

Brutal.
