Ha ha…just had occasion to remind a friend from Edmonton who was razzing me about how the Flames weren’t even in the playoffs, that Calgary has won as many Cups as Edmonton since they drafted McLotteryball.

E=NG now and forever.
Amazing listening to Gazdic in the first intermission blaming the Dman for the missed assignment on the Tkachuk goal. McD cruises back, doesn’t look around, and goes straight to the guy with the puck that is already covered by the D, and Gazdic blames the D for not communicating and telling McDavid. It was a brutal read by him, no situational awareness of any trailers, and caused Tkachuk to be wide open in the slot.

Just awful having to listen to Gazdic’s cheerleading “analysis”. Still don’t understand how he got that job.

This morning, unprompted and completely out of the blue, my 4 year old daughters said "the Oilers are not Canada's team". I wasn't at the kitchen table so she was telling this to her 2 year old brother. I asked her where she heard that from and she said a boy at day care told her.

There are more little boys wearing Oilers hats in this city than there should be, but I'm happy that there is enough good in the world that my daughter is learning to hate the Oilers at day care from other 4 year-olds. I want to thank those parents.

My 4-year-old came home from school last week and said, "The Oilers are cheaters". Not sure if it came from me or school but kids are smart.

Between that, Father's Day and him learning to ride a bike with no training wheels, it's been a pretty great week.

McDavid sunk a whack of dough into his wife's business. Renovating a designated historic site can't be done cheaply. He'll never see a return on that pile of bricks.

He has that job just because of that. He's a cheerleader.

What’s funny is this summer would be a good time to lean into a rebuild for any team because of the upcoming 2026 and 2027 draft classes being so good… and the oilers have the pieces to fast track a rebuild more than anyone. They could get monster returns for McDavid and even draisaitl. They could probably get a decent return on Bouchard even. And this is the summer when, all of a sudden, teams will have cap space.

What’s even funnier is the oilers will never do it. They will sign Bouchard. Hopefully they go for it again next year and they have a playoff hangover that leads to them just missing playoffs. McDavid walks to free agency. Draisaitl turns into an 80-85 point player the following season and then drops off to a 60 point player for the rest of his contract.

I for one will not forget all the "Flames Fans" who abandoned their team to cheer for the Oilers.

A black mark.

How nice would it have been if the Panthers achieved the gentleman's sweep and won the Cup in Edmonton in game 5 forcing them to watch the Panthers raise the Cup in their own city. The destruction would have been amazing.

I will never cheer for those absolute clowns. But the past couple years showed me how many Bandwagon jumpers live amongst us.

They didn't burn down the downtown core like Vancouver Canucks fans did.

I'll give 'em that.

Right now, they have a 3rd rounder, a 6th rounder, and a 7th rounder. And that's it for this draft.

It's not going to be close either.

It's going to be $18M+

And I wouldn't pay it.
