New York...oh yeah the game and pregame and everything will be on every screen in town. Not worried about that because I am lucky enough to be going to the game.
I was just talking about non-gameday type coverage...was having some downtime this afternoon and used a VPN to stream some SN on my phone.
About to head out for a night on the town...wish me luck
Maybe I bump into Bob chugging beers and smoking darts in the back alley like I did with Kipper in 04. And by back alley I don't mean the famous Calgary nightclub.

Of course there are "harder paths." There are literal stats built around the concept of quality of competition.

Before the series started I imagine you'd get some different answers than you would now.
Whoever you play, that's who you play. You'll eventually have to play the winners of the other matchups. Just win.

Silly statement.
First, it doesn't work that way. Second, Tkachuk is seriously hurt and basically useless - was a Conn Smythe favourite prior to this series. Third, Dallas gave them as much of a series as the Oilers did.
Again, just a silly statement. Your need to put the panthers down, and bias against them, is over the top.

Both Edmonton and Dallas gave Vegas a harder series through 4 than the Panthers have.
And again, you earn your path it's not drawn out of a hat or something
Heck even the Jets have a blowout win vs. Vegas. So far the Panthers stole one game with a late goal.

Dino said that about Dallas already...not sure what the discussion is about.
Tkachuk is hurt because he got clobbered by Kolesar, the same thing he tried to do to Eichel.

Your guys need to defend the Panthers is ridiculous
I didn't even start this topic, guy said Vegas had such an easy road to the finals.. Edmonton and Dallas were not easy outs. They played better than the Panthers have so far.
Incase you guys forgot the Panthers were getting pumped before Tkachuk took the big hit
And Bob was the Conn Smythe favorite because if he doesn't stand on his head they lose.

This may be the most boring Stanley Cup final in the past decade. No real intrigue at least north of the border. The gap between the conference finals and the finals was enough to lose interest for a lot of people and I don't think it really came back. I know that there were other scheduling issues involved with the Miami Heat but still, hockey in mid June doesn't have as much of a pull, especially when there isn't any emotional attachment to any team.

Taking a while to get to 5000

I feel like if I was in Vegas I'd find more to do than hang out on CP.

There were/are some good storylines (Bob, Tkachuk, Marchessault/Smith against their old team, Hill, Florida's first trip to the Finals since 1996, etc) but I agree the scheduling has resulted in a loss of momentum.
Vegas (and Vegas fans) won't care; meanwhile Florida had a good week before the Finals and are now just trying to extend the series.

In Dino's defence. Most of us are old and need downtime. We can't keep up to Vegas anymore.

Yeah my 3 posts yesterday took the entire day/night
I'm in Vegas by myself going to the game we are talking about, being on CP for 30 mins is a nice break. I'm not 21 anymore.

I think Vegas is a good example of doing what other NHL GMs haven't been willing to do TBH.
You can say they "Bought" a Stanley Cup, but they were also managed in an aggressive way that generally isn't seen in the NHL.
- They abused other NHL GMs in the expansion draft. People point to the expansion draft rules but really it was teams like Florida (Marchessault/Smith), Anaheim (Theodore), Minnesota (Haula/Tuch) etc making terrible decisions that built that initial Knights roster.
- They weren't afraid to make bold moves. Stone, Eichel, Pietrangelo, etc
- They weren't afraid to cut their losses when things weren't working and they needed to move on from players. The deal for Tatar didn't work out, and they quickly moved on. Moved lots of pieces for Pacioretty, but weren't afraid to move him for nothing in the offseason when they needed cap space. The move with Fleury which offended him but was probably the right move.
They did have the advantage of playing in a very attractive market, but honestly I wish more GMs would be as aggressive as Vegas has been. Maybe we'd see more than 1-2 big trades a season then.

I agree, GMs are way too nice...where are the offer sheets? Somebody should offer sheet Bouchard and destroy the Oilers....maybe their #1 rival?
Vegas market is an advantage but so is Florida obviously...Flames fans of all people should know that

Everyone else knows Bouchard is no good. He won't sign an actual market value offer sheet.

Vegas getting their first ever professional sports franchise (of the big four NFL, NBA, MLB, NHL) is a much more lucrative market than the Panthers in Florida (Heat, Buccs, Rays, Jags, Marlins, Lightning, Panthers, Dolphins, etc). The Knights had the entire state to themselves for 3 years before the Raiders came (and soon to be A's?).

He isn't as good as the numbers but he can play
Oilers will match anyway....which is the point. Don't let them escape with a bridge, kill their cup window with 2 years of Drai left.
