Maybe the problem is more deeply rooted than that?
I know its a fad to rag on Klopp, but look at the team he's built. Look at the attitude he has instilled. Its not as though he was air-dropped in to this team and all he had to do was turn the key and go.
|
I don't know. I think it's different issues.
Under Pochettino the problem was always that late in the season they didn't have the squad depth to cover multiple competitions or to make up for injuries.
It's different under Jose I think. They have the squad depth and pieces to be a good team but he was never the right manager for this team IMO and it's just showing now.
They just look like they are lacking confidence and are sick of playing for the guy.

Well apparently Matip is out for the season now, so we’ll likely see what the new guys are made of in a hurry.

Yeah I saw that. His ankle again.
Matip has the skill but he just cant stay healthy. You cant count on him.

Pfft. Amateur. Kane did both ankles and he might still come back and play more this season to do it all over again!

At least Kane can complain that his coaches give him the 'McDavid' treatment and basically ride him hard and put him away wet.
Matip is just fragile. Its just ridiculous at this point.

What's the point of VAR if they're going to uphold calls like that??!

Wow. That might be the softest, harshest Penalty we've seen all season.
I laugh at the misery of Arsenal and Luiz but that....that is just madness.

I wonder how much reputation plays into a call like that. Like the ref preemptively decided he was gonna flash red because it was David Luiz and the ref assumed he must have done something stupid. But again why have VAR if you can't correct errors like that? If that's not a clear and obvious error then nothing is.

I believe in the Jays.

That was one of the worst VAR decisions yet. They need to make some serious changes to the implementation of VAR, because I think the negatives of the system still outweigh the positives.

How about a miracle and you explain your disgusting post instead of running from it like a coward pretending you can't see it.

No brainer red.
Feel sorry for the Southampton RB. He's going to be targeted all night.

have to feel a bit for Jankewitz there, sent off after two minutes. Young boy, first start in the league ... surely there was no bad intent there, but that's a really bad challenge. Red card all day.

Shaw is having a heck of a season. Who knew you just had to get competition in to get him going? Credit where credit is due, he's been outstanding.

He's a lot leaner and fitter looking than last year.
This would have been the perfect game to introduce Diallo.
