First Iggy now Hayes I hope in two years we look as attractive as the Av's do to FA's.

While the bold is certainly true, I don't see either team being a threat to win it all. Too many teams in the West better than Colorado and the Rangers just happened to the team that came out of a weak Eastern conference.
I'd say both are playoff teams but I wouldn't call either team a contender.

Fair enough, point is, neither of those teams scream "I want a shot at the NHL over playing for a contender".
Besides, the way I see the West, the top 8 teams are in for a dog fight and I think any of those 8 teams could come out on top and win the cup... unless they are so beat up getting through the other Western teams that they have nothing left for the finals.

There are a couple of strange sets of reactions in this thread. On the one hand there are posters who are impatient and desperate for news about Hayes' signing—mostly because they are desperate for news. But it comes off as a little odd, given that his decision has nothing to do with fans, and whatever decision that he does make is likely to have a minimal impact on each of our day-to-day live.s On the other hand, there are some who behave as though Hayes has somehow slighted the Flames by his decision not to sign here. Now I could understand this if the Flames had drafted him, but they didn't and he is no more "rejecting" Calgary than he is the 27 other teams that he doesn't happen to sign with. I other words, relax. The only group who should feel in any way put out are the Chicago Blackhawks and their fans.
Hayes is "found money". And every day that you happen to not find money does not result in anger, frustration, and regret. If he signed with the Flames that would have been great. But his decision to take his time making in making it, or to sign with another team does not make him a bad person, or selfish, or stupid.

This assumes in the first place that Hayes—and NHL players in general—are any better at picking a winner than the average fan. I'm not at all convinced of this. There is no reason to expect that he doesn't consider the Rangers or the Avalanche as contenders, much the same as many casual fans likely do based on their records from last season.

It's too bad. He may not be a super star or the best prospect but he would have definitely helped this team moving forward. It would be nice to pick up a decent right wing prospect or young player to help the teams depth.

Well, this will probably be the first and last time anyone will ever care about Kevin Hayes at the the NHL level. I guess he might as well draw this out and enjoy it.

Expecting Kevin Hayes decision today. It won't be the Bruins.

I'm pretty surprised about this actually. They seemed like the best fit in most ways.
The one team we haven't really heard anything about is the Flames. Maybe that's a good thing?

Nope sounds like the Flames were never really in it.
Most likely he signs with Avalanche or Rangers based on the latest information out there.

Ray Ferraro @rayferrarotsn
John @Buccigross reports from Dublin on Ray Ferraro's twitter feed that @KevinPHayes12 has signed with @NYRangers #blueshiirts
