Haha yeap. Laid out flat in front of the shooter, stopped the puck and the shooter went for a little flight.

Heat win 3-2 in the shoot-out, end three game losing streak.

Shots 42-34 for the Heat.

Heat PP 0/4
Heat PK 4/4

Heat scoring:

1. Arsene from Knight, Reinhart
2. Hanowski from Jooris, Lafranchise

Granlund and Knight both scored in the shoot out.
Ortio stopped all 4 shooters in the shoot out, convincingly too I might add.

Baertschi with 5 shots on goal, and was even. Despite no points again, he and Granlund seem to be developing some chemistry, and Sven had several really good scoring chances this game.

Burke notes:

- Troy Ward doing a good job
- Need to get bigger on the farm too, MacDermid trade addressed that a bit
- Ferland is the type of guy they're looking for going forward, big, tough and can score
(Side note, he said Ferland's knee injury is serious, not sure what that means but crappy)
- Says Corban Knight will be a good NHLer down the road
- Sven will be a good NHLer, if he makes the commitment to more complete game

The rest was pretty much everything we've been hearing from him since the firings. Doesn't want to be GM but will not rush hiring new guy, etc, etc....

Ortio's now a perfect 2-0 in the shootout and has stopped all seven shooters he's faced. The Heat are 4-1 in the shootout thanks, in part, to Granlund's godliness (he's 75% in shootouts).

The Ward comment is very interesting.

Why do you say that? He's did the exact same thing about Hartley, no?

Hartley has another year left on his contract. Ward's in his option year.

The Flames will be shootout dynamos if Granlund can make it, combined with Colborne.

Granlund went backhand five-hole his last two attempts, so I guess he must've felt the book was out on him. This time around, he faked five-hole and went backhand top shelf. Smart play by him.

I'd find his quote more interesting if Burke had said Ward was doing a great job instead of a good job. I think Burke said Feaster was doing a "good" job early on also.

He said he could tell that the Abbotsford Heat was a well-coached team because they do a lot of little things right. Burke hasn't showered any praise on anyone since he's got here (except the 2013 draft) so I'd take it as a full-marks compliment to Ward.

Honestly Burke is coming across as kind of a moron to me. The Heat need to get bigger? Do they need to change to more black and blue hockey too? I think they're fine, Brian.
