Bouw, I truly feel for ya. If my team was getting ripped out from underneath me, regardless of how crappy the support is, I would be pissed too. But it is almost like you are losing your grasp of reality, and are making really desperate statements.
You cannot honestly think, that a 70% empty building is good for the overall game, good for the team, and especially the league. Phoenix is an embarrassing black eye on the league from any angle. Phoenix does not deserve a team... period. Red Deer deserves a team more, ad would support it better.
The 30 million dollar loss is coming straight from the coffers of the teams that can support one, and that is simply unfair to those teams. Just let go man, it's not gonna work, and the team is as good as gone.

I agree with him. It is embarrassing how some of the board members don't understand the situation in Phoenix. They're a market that seems to have had bad management that built a rink in the middle of no where. Phoenix as a market is more attractive than Winnipeg and always will be. I'd only accept Edmontons team moving to Winnipeg under current league model. There is no upside to Winnipeg unless the league switches to a gate driven model going forward which I guess is also up for debate.

There is no way G.W.I. backs down on anything. They are ready for a battle to the bitter end.

The problem is that unless someone foots the money for a new rink, that's not going to change. No matter who's the owner, the rink will always be in the wrong part of town.

GLENDALE-GOLDWATER MEETING PRODUCES NO RESOLUTIONS
Potential buyer Matthew Hulsizer joined officials of the conservative Goldwater Institute and city of Glendale in a lengthy, often-contentious meeting Thursday about the issues standing in the way of his acquisition of the Phoenix Coyotes. Not surprisingly, there was no resolution.

The result of this meeting was this: Glendale, Hulsizer, and the NHL will move forward and deal with a suit later.
Can we all agree that Goldwater has a higher agenda here? They keep bringing up taxpayers want to know this/that/other but taxpayer support for GWI from polls i've seen are around 20% - Everyone I talk to, and regardless of what you all think about hockey in Phoenix.. this is a much talked about issue at work, at restaraunts, coffee shops, what have you. People KNOW that Westgate and Glendale are ****ed if the team leaves. Which is why people in Winnipeg should not get their hopes up. Glendale cannot afford to lose this team as that would be the worst of the two Bad options for them and i've always said they don't have a good option. They have Bad and Worse.

Keeping the team in Glendale may well be the best for the city but it is irrelevant to the law, and everything the city has done suggests that even they know they are breaking the law with this, they already own the parking rights, hell they own the whole thing, the amount they are paying Hulsizer to manage the building is 5 times higher than market rate etc.
The city has been fudging the books, hiding documents and generally trying to pull a fast one on its own citizens, if I was you I would ignore the team for a moment and consider what a bunch of scumbags you have in office giving your money away right now.
The only way the team is staying in Glendale is if Hulsizer just ponies up his own money for it which, frankly, is the way it should be.

The noose is definitely around the neck of the dream that the Jets are "coming home"
GWI in this sense are acting like unrelenting terrorists and have never been there to negotiate. They quite frankly aren't even a negotiable party and have never been one.

No bond sale, no money for little Matty Hulsizer to have the team half-way gifted to him.

The guy who thinks everything is just peachy in Glendale when in reality it most certainly is not.
Positive thinking is one thing. Being delusional in the face of a very public reality is another. You've been in the latter category for a while now.

If the Coyotes move to Winnipeg, it will be short term, nothing more. The city is too poor, the arena to small and the corporate support too thin.
Winnipeg will be Phoenix North - nothing more.

When have I expressed everything was peachy in Glendale? It's a mess!
There are just realities that alot of people overlook because the only perspective they see are reported losses and attendance figures.
It is not that simple

C'mon, really? You say that Glendale, Hulsizer and the NHL are going to move ahead on the deal despite the lawsuit and the bonds not being sold, and that isn't deluding yourself into believing everything is OK?

The bonds have buyers... at a higher rate. Which has been the entire issue. Glendale is trying to find itself the best deal but may have no choice but to move forward at the higher interest rate.

Gee, I wonder why no one reports this information, I mean TSN has guys down there along with numerous other media. I feel for you, but this is over.
