This is an interesting story about how a black police officer, on his own, seemingly used himself as a decoy to lead a mob away from the senate, buying them the extra time they needed to evacuate, and leading the mob toward his reinforcements.

Before anyone excuses it because they were scared, overwhelmed, had bone spurs, etc..., it's worth noting that two civilian bystanders ended up jumping in to rescue her.

I believe that we should recognize police as heroes when the do things that are heroic, but that should also come with the downside of recognizing the cowards when they act cowardly. I hope the LAPD finds out who was there at the time and sends them to the unemployment line.

The FBI and the New York Police Department passed information to the Capitol Police about the possibility of violence during the Jan. 6 protests against the ratification of the presidential election, and the FBI even visited more than a dozen extremists already under investigation to urge them not to travel to Washington, senior law enforcement officials told NBC News.

Those previously unreported details undercut the assertion by a top FBI official this week that officials had no indication violence was a possibility, and add to questions of what intelligence authorities had reviewed prior to the Capitol riot that led to the death of an officer and four others, including a rioter who was shot and killed by police

As NBC News has reported, a digital flyer made public on Instagram and Facebook in December referred to what would happen as: "Operation Occupy the Capitol."

On the fringe message board 8kun, which is popular with QAnon followers, users talked for weeks about a siege of the Capitol.

"You can go to Washington on Jan 6 and help storm the Capitol," said one 8kun user a day before the siege. "As many Patriots as can be. We will storm the government buildings, kill cops, kill security guards, kill federal employees and agents, and demand a recount."

How could the FBI and other agencies have missed all that? It turns out they didn't, officials tell NBC News.

"Prior to this event, the FBI obtained credible and actionable information about individuals who were planning on traveling to the protests who expressed a desire to engage in violence," the senior FBI official told NBC News. "The FBI was able to discourage those individuals from traveling to D.C."

Given that the Democrats control both houses and Biden controls the DoJ, I imagine there will be a lot of congressional investigations about the whole thing. And probably some actual repercussions if people ignore subpoenas unlike during the last 4 years.

It’s like all these Trumpers heard the term white privilege this summer so many times, and despite denying its existence for years, finally thought to test just how prevalent and deep seeded white privilege and systemic racism really are in America.

They’re finding out that the answer is “pretty ####ing prevalent” but not “let’s you get away with sedition” prevalent.

The fact that they are crying like a 3 year old who had his lolli taken away just makes it all the sweeter.


The fact they also proved that white privilege and systemic racism extend to “invade capitol without getting shot” is also kind of scary but I’m trying to focus on the positives right now.
