Kohlschreiber's out too, so no one between Denis and a top 20 ranking is still playing.

Set your PVR (or get up very early) to watch Denis take on Millman.

Guess I’m watching on my own this early morn after working tonight. I won’t spoil the scores for you sleepy heads, but it is a rainy start to the day at Roland Garros and play is continuing on. Bring your umbrellas!

Set my alarm for this match. Definitely worth it for that first set. It was well played.

Denis was clearly out of sorts in the Paris drizzle in that opening set but composed himself well after the rain delay. Millman was never the same after dropping five straight games in that first set (up 5-2 and losing 7-5).

I didn't watch, but seeing that Millman had 9 winners and 36 errors....yeah, not gonna lose often when your opponent is that wild. Good to knock out that first win.

Hats off to Bolelli he played lights out and even though he lost in straights he gave Nadal all he could handle.

Vasek loses in straight sets to Fucsovics - Not a surprise, consistency is the biggest thing that's holding Vasek back, he gives away far too many easy points by dumping ground strokes into the net or sailing them long.

Seems like Denis has decided that the key to him winning on clay is to go for his shots to the Nth degree... He is absolutely smoking the ball. Using the lack of pace to get a bit more time to run around and set up properly and then just obliterate the thing. It's pretty fun to watch. I think playing this type of tennis is probably really good in terms of improving his game. Too bad he'll only get a couple more rounds in.

Jack Sock having a devil of a time in his match with Jurgen Zopp. Now going to a fifth set with Mr. Sock throwing a few mini hissy fits and tantrums along the way.
And water is wet.

It looks like Zopp was a lucky loser? They're still on serve so no easy path for Sock, anyway. Apparently he was ranked 123 coming into this.
EDIT: Zopp up a break and serving for match...
EDIT: Zopp wins! There's a path to Nadal for sure now, though obviously no easy matches.

Sock has not had a good 2018 as far as singles competition is concerned, but this is still a huge upset.

Not looking good for Polansky. PHH is playing way too well right now.
Polansky will need his opponent's level to drop significantly to get back into any real fighting chance.

Hey, Peter takes the second set 6-4 to level the match at one set apiece.
