So glad to see Americans out protesting. That country is a mess. Conservatives are pathetic imo.

The United States government is certain that Haider Sameer Abdulkhaleq Alshawi does not pose a security threat to the country. That’s why it granted Alshawi, an Iraqi, a visa to come to America and join his wife and children, who had already fled and resettled in Texas. (In Iraq, Alshawi’s family members were victims of an attempted kidnapping and a car bombing because Alshawi’s wife worked for a U.S. contractor.) On Friday, Alshawi boarded a flight to New York’s JFK airport. While he was in the air, Donald Trump signed an executive order prohibiting Iraqi refugees from entering the country. When Alshawi’s plane landed, reports the New York Times, agents from Customs and Border Protection boarded it and took him into custody. They prohibited Alshawi from contacting his attorneys, who were waiting for him at the airport. The attorneys asked a CBP agent who they should speak to in order to help their client.
“Mr. President,” a CBP agent responded. “Call Mr. Trump.”

Quote:
As of Saturday afternoon, Alshawi is still being detained at JFK. He is one of multiple refugees—the government won’t say how many there are—with valid documents who is nevertheless being held at an airport. Trump’s expansive executive order prevents refugees, migrants, and even green-card holders from seven Muslim-majority countries from entering the U.S. (Reuters reports that green-card holders may be evaluated on a case-by-case basis.) The government’s interpretation of the order has led to the immediate and indefinite detention of people who, until yesterday, had every right to come into the country.

Seriously, they are banning regular people who have been admitted LEGALLY and were in the US merely weeks/months before.
Why not just build the wall across the Atlantic and Pacific ocean lines as well?

This is where Trump remains useful to the GOP. He distracts the public while they continue to erode the rights of citizens in the shadows.

I made the mistake of checking some facebook comments today. Whoa lordy. Specifically on a local (Oregon) news report of Trudeau's tweet that refugees are welcome in Canada. Several idiots are saying "We're going to need a northern wall too". And Oregon is a blue state. This is beyond .... sad.

Honest question, do you believe that Trump will set up Internment camps or Death camps for Muslims during his term as President?

Internment camps, quite possibly, although his first week in office has been such an utter shambles I can see him being impeached in a month or two just as easily.
You don't need death camps, you just send them back to whichever country they're trying to escape from, they'll be shot or beheaded as they step off the plane. You know, like the Jews in WW2

Yeah, a lot of people forget that the Nazis started by deporting Jews and then other countries started sending them back to Germany. They didn't go from zero to death camps in 5 seconds. It took years to escalate to that point, and even after it got to that point, many Germans didn't even realize that the outside world was right about what was happening.
Trump recently signed an order to start back up Black Sites. What goes on there, we won't necessarily know.

Most of the world doesn't care. Some governments apparently do, but after the elections of 2017, that may end up changing into support for Trump.

I was speaking specifically of governments, but no doubt it extends into the general population too.
Anyhow, how do you know most of the world doesn't care?

Oregon is blue, but it stems from the cities. The rest of it, not so much. My inlaws live there but at this point I refuse to step foot down there.

If you dropped a Canadian into some parts of rural oregon or Washington state, you could easily convince them they were in Appalachia or maybe even amongst the Hill Tribes of The Vale.
