From Hwy 8 + 69th st will I be able to get to the University if I go:

69th -> Bow -> Sarcee -> Westbound Hwy1 -> Stoney -> Crowchild -> 32nd Ave?

My family has visitors in from out of town staying at a condo in that area with no cell phone and they don't speak or understand english. Would be nice to get to them.

Redford just said the bridge behind the Stampede "is washed out"
Does that mean it is lost? or flooded over? Any thoughts...

Is it still raining out Canmore way? Looks like it has. So have the rivers thus peaked here or still more to come?

OMG...I hate watching all of this from California. I feel so helpless. My heart goes out to all my YYC brethren. Please stay safe, stay home if you are able, and don't take any unnecessary risks today. This will all pass soon enough and life will be back to normal.

BTW, kinda pissed how this flooding is nearly as bad as the NYC flooding recently, but not even discussed on the American news. Pretty frickin ridiculous.

I'm thinking its likely looking at that picture.

The downtown underground tunnel is completely under water, which is bad news, I don't know if they could even pump it out by Monday.

Looks like no lunch trips downtown this weekend.

a) I feel your pain, most Calgarians are also watching and feeling helpless. Distance has no impact.

b) Bear in mind I don't think this is on the same scale as hurricane Sandy. 80%+ of Calgarians are on hills well above water levels, but yes, things are bad for the others that are right on the rivers.

So, she is saying the high water mark is in 3 hours? I thought the water level was dropping already?
