Nice comments from Nenshi on Lord. I'd have far less restraint.

Scrutineers have Woolley up by about 900 votes with 1 polling station left to report. Curtains.

Alexander now in 2nd for Ward 7. Taylor 26% of the votes. Didn't see that one coming!
 Also of note...
9 of the 13 "Home builder Endorsed" Candidates are currently in the lead or declared winners.

I'll bet the residents of Hawkwood and the rest of Ward 2 are rubbing their hands in glee when Magliocca delivers on his Airdrie to Okotoks train...
I'd like to see Mar win just so I can see Michelle Stirling's head explode... For a contract writer....she must be starving...

What surprises you about the Taylor and alexander thing?
I know little about either and just wish one of them had dropped out so the other ould have had a better shot to unseat the incumbent.

On that note, it doesn't appear to me that turnout was all THAT bad, at least by historical standards, given that the mayoral race was virtually uncontested.

I resemble that remark. Except the part about being happy Magliocca is winning. Very disappointed my ward neighbours appear to have voted based on sign density.

At least Shawn Ripley will be able to commute downtown quickly. He promised to move to ward 2 either way, but I doubt he does. (I actually have no idea whether he really does live in Airdrie or not)

Alexanders platform is very similar to Farrell's. I figured Alexander would take Farrell's votes and the split would lead to a Taylor victory. A lot of people assumed this and many voted Farrell as a strategic means to prevent the Taylor victory.

Taylor and Alexander share nothing in common other than they're not Farrell.

Did you vote for Dowhan as you eluded to in your summary of the candidates?

... which of course is completely illogical and counter-intuitive.
