Intriguing pick. Fact he's just a few days from a 2013 pick also interesting. As a flames fan the forward picks over the past few years has been exciting. Gaudrea and this years first a go do example of chasing high end talent that may be off the board a bit.

Providence.
Calgary also has the option of sending him to Saginaw as they own his CHL rights if they don't want him going down the NCAA route.

Providence College, but is sounds like he might spend a year in the USHL first with Dubuque
also love this quote from his coach.
Quote:
"In all my years here, he's one of the most coachable kids I've had. His first year here, if I'd asked him to put his head through a concrete wall, he'd have done it. He's a kid that any coach would love to have." -- Stanstead coach James Rioux

Happy with Subban going to Boston, going to make the brothers beat on each other. Habs vs Bruins.

Calgary has the option? I hadn't heard that before.
I'm sure he'll discuss it with the Flames to some degree, but the Flames don't decide where he plays or for how long. If the kid wants to go to college.........he's going.

I think the worst thing I've heard is that he's "alright".

Another good article about Jankowski:
Quote:
This past season, Janowski tallied 53 goals and 40 assists for 93 points in only 57 games (with a plus/minus of +51) following a rookie season during which he recorded 36 goals and 46 assists for 82 points in 78 games at Stanstead College. Jankowski’s rise as a prospect for the upcoming is primarily due to a growth spurt that saw him go from 5’8” to 6’3” in a period of 18 months. While he has grown in stature, he weighs only 175 pounds and needs to bulk up during the summer to handle the tougher competition he will most likely face next year.
A smooth skater with a great on-ice vision, Jankowski is a very creative player that can score goals and distribute the puck to his line-mates. The skilled pivot is very patient with the puck and his high hockey sense helps him create offense for his team-mates.
