In a surprise deal the Washington Capitals have traded David Krejci and 2021 2nd (NYI) to the Nashville Predators for Brent Burns and Cap.

Erik Cernak has been traded to LAK for Alex Iafallo and 2021 2nd (EDM) and cap equalized
Another set of enjoyable negotiations. Hope Cernak does well for the Kings and Harry

Cole Caufield + Debrincat +3rd for Domi+Holtz+2nd
I do worry I'm selling low on The Cat. He's an original Wild draft pick, and a guy who has scored 40 at a young age, but seemed to be pushed down the lineup for the Hawks last year. Could easily re-bound. Domi gives me someone with more experience and jam. Caufield is another Wild pick, and a guy i'm very high on, but I view Holtz as having a little less risk, while having the same level of upside.

I don’t think it would shock anyone that we have been after Caufield for a while.
This deal came about mostly because of my need for a scoring RW after I dealt both Boeser and Rantanen.
My plan was to keep Domi until after Eichel came back. But after a loss to the Avs we couldn’t make a deal fast enough.
I am very high on Holtz, and I think he will be a better all around player than Caufield. But I really do think that Caufield has what it takes to be an NHL sniper.
If we can get Debrincat scoring we will be happy we put scoring has sucked.

Noah Hanafin + Kevin Stenlund for Alex Tuch + Lias Andersson + Max Gildon
Once I picked up Cernak, Hanifin was the odd guy out. I think that down the road, Hanifin is going to be great, but for this season I'm only strong in one position. Likewise, once I picked up Bennett, Stenlund became expandable. Same kind of player, although I'm more of a Bennett fan.
With Tuch, I get someone who can fit a role I need right now. I'm going to run a Boone/Blais/Tuch line, and see how many players they can injure.
Lias Andersson is a wildcard. I see him as a productive middle six player as soon as next season, and I wanted a couple of Kings on the team, so that fills that spot. I can stop trying to trade for every King in the league.
Max Gildon is a prototypical high floor/low ceiling player. In CPHL terms, he could end up being a 69OVR player for the next ten years.
So, lost the best player in the deal, but what I can see of next years team is starting to round into form, so here's to hoping I can sneak into the playoffs this year, and actually contend next.

Tuch was playing on my 4th line and I need more depth on the backend, so that core swap for Hanifin makes a lot of sense for me. I think Hanifin still has upside to become a solid #3 or even #2 player (maybe not in Calgary though). I've had Tuch since he broke into the league and have always expected him to take the next step...and outside of playoffs he just has not done that. He is also facing a deep roster in Vegas, so it was time for him to move on.
Andersson was a Dallas draft pick but has obviously faltered. I think he is a great buy-low for the Kings.
I don't really care about the other 2 bums.
Thanks for the easy deal, Harry.

I do have a weakness for NCAA defensemen.
Scott Perunovich, Dylan Samberg, Cam Lee, Brendan Mennell, Chase Priskie and now Max Gildon. I have a theory that that NCAA development has taken a big step and defensemen in particular are set up for an easy transition to the NHL. I'm still prejudiced against forwards though.

Habs are content to wait it out until Eichel comes back.
However there have been 3-4 offers on Hronek and a few tire kickers on Rinne.
I am viewing Hronek as a long term piece of our team so would really need a piece that would fit the long term puzzle to move him.
Rinne is very highly rated and cheap and can help a team. It looks like Mike Smitt has won the starters job
So ideallyI would trade Rinne for a good veteran forward or dman who is similar to him. He could also go for a good prospect.

Panarin's time in Nashville wasn't a good one and he has been shipped off to the Ducks. It wasn't an easy decision to move him but he has been underperforming. The deal breaks down like this..
To Ana: Panarin, Maxime Lagace
To Nash: Silverberg, Morgan Frost, highly touted goalie prospect Kaapo Kahkonen and a 2021 5th(nsh)
Thanks to Simmer for the trade talks and good luck!

Appreciate the deal Cambam, fun talks!
My 2nd line has started to slow down a fair bit. Kubalik doesn't really deserve the time he is getting so I was trying to figure out a change without moving him and his cheap contract for next year.
Upgrading on Silfverberg who is on my 3rd line made the most sense. I wasn't going to re-sign him next year, and Panarin is locked up for 3 years so I'll have an easier time moving a guy like him in the off-season for a return.
That and he can immediately step into our 2nd line and hopefully contribute!
I have very few prospects and picks left, but I can move guys in the off-season to replenish the cupboard when the time comes. I want to focus on winning now!

St Louis trades Eric Haula, John Gilmour and 1 million cheese to LA for prospect Noel Serron, and a 4th in 2022.
Reason.
Haula just didn't do anything in his time in St Louis. And with Larkin coming back I had 14 forwards on the NHL team, this deal brings me back a RW prospect in Serron and a draft pick and I gain 750,000 in cap space.

St Louis has moved Corey Perry to the Preds for 2 5th round picks in this years draft and a 4th in next years draft. St Louis will cover Perry's salary for the remainder of this year.

The LA "Titanic" Kings shuffled some deck chairs this afternoon, and shipped out Victor Arvidsson and Chase Priskie to the Detriot Red Wings in return for Jesper Fast. Fast hits people really good, and took a community course on manning life boats last summer.
