Same thing with Zadorov. Not injury related, but I think Conroy took less in order to get the trade done sooner. There was too much noise around him, so he wanted to get it done sooner but sacrificed potential return by not waiting until there were more buyers ready.
Which is what a lot of fans seem to want now.

Thanks, thought I had read that somewhere (that he was the best) so I got that one wrong. So he is like 3rd and I think Mckenna is something like 15th or something for PPG for draft year eligible forwards. Two pretty good prospects, with McKenna being more of a James Hagens type on the forward side. Not sure what the comparable is for Verhoeff. Verhoeff doing it at the age of 17 for the entire year is impressive either way, now that McKenna is turning 18 in a couple weeks have to see if he cranks it up in the second half.

Keep in mind that Buium and Levshunov were both late 2005 birthdays, and both quite a bit older than Verhoeff was

Yep, this needs to be factored in. Both Buium and Levshunov were easy top 10 picks because of how well they were playing in the NCAA at the age of 18, almost 19. Verhoeff is doing what he's doing at the age of 17 and is a June birthday.

Yup, those were stats that I posted a few days ago.

For U-18 Defensemen in the NCAA, Verhoeff ranks 12th in ppg (0.71) all-time.

Since 1990, Verhoeff is now tied for 1st for U-18 Defensemen in the NCAA in ppg (0.71).

*Anything can happen between now and the end of the season to change this.

Kadri is probably the best #2 centre in the league. The only teams that wouldn't be getting a massive upgrade, might be teams with two #1 centres. Maybe Edmonton? Even then, they could use Kadri as your #2/3 centre. Kadri creates offence and elevates the play of whatever wingers are with him. He turns any line into automatic depth scoring.

Ya I knew I got the best in a longtime (think I said 40 years, it is apparently 35 years) from a legitimate source.

Guess Monahammer does not have to worry about being force fed fake stats as much as before.

For U-19 players in NCAA going back to the 1989-90 season, McKenna ranks 58th in ppg (1.13).

Thanks Aarongavey- since I can't properly illustrate how good Verhoeff's season ranks until it's complete, I went for the next best thing, which is the projection in the form of ppg.

I’ve not been as locked in as years past but Rasmus gotta be the best piece on the market this deadline? 18pts in 27, playing huge minutes, somehow a even +/- on a team that can’t score. Unless Quinn Hughes becomes available what other player is more valuable on the trade block? Hopefully Flames can get a monster return

Kadri has the most intriguing return potential. I didn’t think Nelson would return as well as he did

For U-19 Defensemen in the NCAA since the 1989-90 season, Verhoeff ranks 26th all-time in ppg (.71).

This compares him to Levshunov (0.92) and Buium's (1.19) age bracket.

Still extremely impressive for a player who doesn't turn 18 until June 19th.

I would take Kadri over Nelson in a playoff run, and didn't Nelson still need to be signed in the off-season?

True, and it's pretty much a foregone conclusion that Hughes is going to NJ...

Kadri and Andersson are easily commanding a 1st++
Coleman under the right circumstances/team could fetch a 1st
Flames could come out with 3 more firsts in this years draft, which sounds like something they're very interested in.

2 picks in the top 10? Yes please.

A bunch of 1st and 2nds would be nice, but at the end of the day, the Flames still primarily need multiple picks at the very top of the draft.

Of course, trading these guys away would help accomplish both.

2 picks in the top 10? 100%.

Not sure how realistic that is though. Only path to that that comes to mind is if there’s a deal to be had wooing Boston for Toronto’s pick. It is topn5 prospected, so it would be 6-10.

I was more so thinking they could use any number of their hypothetical 4 other 1st's to trade into another top 10 pick.

Who realistically would trade out of the top 10? Maybe Buffalo

I’d say the Frost/Farabee trade could turn out quite well as well. Although Pelletier is leading the AHL in scoring.
