Not a pilot, so this could be way off, could the fire be part of a compressor stall?

Usually any flames from a Compressor stall are internal and extinguished when the engine starts again. External fires are usually the result if a fluid leak. If a turbine lets go you can have both.

Sure gave the edges of the runway at Whitehorse a good cleaning on departure!

I was departing from Heathrow back to Calgary that day the BA flight had the emergency landing. What a ####storm it must have been trying to get everything organized on only one runway. Most of the BA short-haul flights were being cancelled, but my AC flight wasn't affected very much. Also got a very cool shot of the Concorde that BA has still sitting on the tarmac that I will post up later.

Well, the picture below is terrible, but it is a preview of flight paths around the world.

Anyone see that ride that Vince McMahon flew in on yesterday?

Not sure what type of plane it was....but it looked really sweet.

Here is a link to it

My desire to see it takeoff is competing with my laziness to stay home and not put on pants.

World Airways MD-11 arrived just before 4pm from Belfast. Love the tri-jets.

Edit: I believe it was bringing in horses for Spruce Meadows (and thus this weather).
