That Zary moustache guy is going to send me death threats for being a closet oilers fan for saying this but honestly I can kind of see the dive on Fiala. I don't even know where foegeles stick tripped him? It looks like it just hits Fialas stick...MAYBE his skate.
Well, Fiala has a history of diving and refs look out for that. Diving is RARELY called and its really for players who are already labelled as bad actors. It was even talked about during the intermission. In a way, there is game management and bias because refs have already labelled divers as divers and are extra observant of them.
How is that embellishment? Fiala tries to make a play from his knees after being slashed then tripped.
The only embellishment I see from Fiala is maybe he feet didn't have to come up after he went down. But refs have to use common sense. Did it make more sense there fore Fiala to dive or to try and drive the net?

The other calls are soft though.
As the stick blade is on Fiala's glove, the shaft is on his thigh. That twist knocks him off balance.

Fiala's embellishment was not as egregious as Draisaitl's was. IMO, Draisaitl flop's was so much more blatant.
I don't think it really matters much anyway. I didn't think the Kings would put up much of a fight. They just don't have the talent to compete. Dubois is an overpaid player that doesn't do even close to enough out there.
I do think that the NHL does not want to help a small market team like the Oilers go to the Stanley Cup finals, but they do want McDavid there. I am not usually one to blame refs, and i don't necessarily think that all the calls were wrong against LA, but the refs can't make those calls on LA and then NOT make similar calls against Edmonton. Either call everything down the line, or call only the very egregious ones down the line. This was a horse#### of the refs on a deciding game IMO.
In the end, it doesn't really matter. I wanted this series to be pushed to 7 games if nothing else than to keep Edmonton from having time off to nurse whatever nagging injuries that they may have. I predicted 5 games here as I didn't think LA would put up much of a fight.

They weren't observant enough. And if they want to call guys who dive a lot, look ath the other team's top two scorers.

You should be stripped of that username.

So why doesn’t McDavid get called for it?? He has before…

Saw some Oilers fans replying to Walsh that the Dubois hold was actually a slew foot. They have no idea what a slew foot is. Any time one their players go down, they claim it was a slew foot.

Here is another one. Basically two penalties that could be called on the play & would have been called on the play if they were on the Oilers. Interference & goalie interference.
I love how it’s a “collision” when McDavid runs over Anderson. If the situation was reversed they would be calling for murder.
So is he the best skater in the world or is the contact unavoidable? Which is it?
Maybe it is & McDavid needs to work on his edges?
It’s self evident that they’re targeting Anderson for the series two years again when the Neon Leon decided to be the big man & defend Conny slashing Quick.

Naw. You can see Fiala is lunging forward to try and finish the play.
It also wasn't a light slash that he took. You can see his hands shake after the slash. That alone would cause a lot of guys to drop to their knees, just from the pain.
