"Edmonton is no Good"
"OMG people are talking #### about the Oilers in this thread!"
First round matchup with Vegas is all but certain, hopefully they cheat the cap even more than usual...what a howler when the Oilers lose in round one and have the Drai contract dispute for July 1st

This is actually a good point.
It intrigued me to look up the 17 game streak for Pittsburgh in 92/93.
It ended on the last game of the season with a 6-6 tie, so easily could have been 18 & who knows how many more if it wasn't the last game.
They also then won their first 3 playoff games so what the Oilers have done doesn't touch that even if they get one more W.

How on earth have these clowns only allowed 18 goals in their last 14 games? Is Sutter running their practices via Zoom?

Only 4 of those games were against teams in the top half of the league in goals per game.

The worse offensive team in the NHL - SJ - Still averages 2.08 goals a game.
To only allow 18 goals in 14 games is impressive for anyteam, vs any opponent
And very un-Oiler like historically speaking with this core

What are you arguing here? Do you think their schedule was difficult through this stretch? Unfortunately for Oiler fans, there are sites that measure such metrics these days and it is viewed as soft....
Sorry for upsetting your newfound Oiler fandom.

They still riding high on new coach bump. History has shown this previously, granted not 16 game win streak, however once pro scouts and teams get enough video they will understand their structure and game more. Or knoblauch is the best coach not in the NHL and they found a gem.

Impressive streak for sure but they have beat 1 team in that time that currently sits top 3 in their division. NYR right as the beginning of the streak.
Edmonton is no good

We'll see how these players hold up after the ASG. Oilers have played fewest games in the league and have 8 pairs of back-to-back games over the rest of the season. Not to mention what looks like a much tougher strength of opposition: two against Boston, two against Vegas, three against Colorado, etc. It's not going to be all sunshine and rainbows!

I remember 2 or 3 years ago when the Flames were playing unreal amazing hockey going into the all-star break, then came back and fumbled our way to the playoffs barely. (Was that the year we played the Avs?)
Hoping for a similar and dramatic fall from grace for our shelbyville neighbors to the North.

Time to start putting large bets down on EDM. That will ensure losses.
You’re welcome.

No one will care about a record winning streak once they lose again in the playoffs.
Its OK to peak early...Thats what my wife says anyways...

I think it's fair to go back to that. This new name has done too much damage.

If everyone in Edmonton stopped their usual bathing routine, it could save the city up to 40L a week.
