It is too early for the reactions but most fans can’t be patient. I think it will take Huby at least another 6-7 games to really feel comfortable and hopefully when that happens we see a big uptick in multi point games and very few games where he is not on the scoresheet.

Still not a "worst contract in the league" which was the point

Also thing is he hasn't been a "fairly one dimensional winger" in his time as Flame.
Part of his production issue have been that he is almost over committed to playing strong defense. He's actually becoming a bit of a guy you can trust defensively and his on ice defensive metrics have been good as a Flame. He's not Mark Stone but he's probably at least average to above average defensively now.

If you want to see if someone is the worst contract in the league you need to take the Nurse test
"would you trade him for Nurse?"
No? then it's not the worst contract in the league

But for him to improve his defensive metrics his offensive game fell off a cliff. Let’s see him put up 82+pts and keep that defensive trust of the coaches. I hope he does it but he has yet to do both. He lost his most important scoring dimension to improve on the other side

It would be nice to give Toronto a sweetener such as a second rounder to take Nazem off our hands in exchange for an unsigned Nylander at the deadline. Treliving loved him so much to give him that contract, give him back and see if he bites.

He played "ok" tonight.
That being said, the Islanders "missed out" on Kadri right? Maybe we should grant them a second chance.

Kadri and a 2nd for nothing likely isn’t enough to get a team to bite. We aren’t getting something of value back for him with only a 2nd attached.

I don’t think the idea is to get something back at all

It's not a question of if it'll be a 1st and a top prospect, but how many. And by that I mean several of each.
Just have to hold out until a buyout is reasonable, which is a few years yet.

In the post the proposal was getting Nylander back at the deadline. That is easily a value of a first, likely a first plus.
But I agree in a Kadri deal the best we can hope for and should be looking for us the cap space it gives us.

Kadri assisted on the winner last game and was invested this game...hopefully he keeps going in the right direction.
Him playing better is good if you want to move him or not

How is it that he came back playing worse than last season?
Does this guy have an inkling of pride?
What happened to "kiss my ass" GWG scorer in the finals Nazem Kadri?
