Well this next season doesn't matter because he's getting at least 9 mill either way. It's the season after that.
If there's ever any time Tkachuk would play well, it would be on a UFA season right in the beginning of his prime. I wouldn't be surprised if 2022-2023 ends up being his career year.

Especially having fans back and back to normal, I could see it reinvigorating him.

If Treliving does that, he should be fired immediately!

I have zero interest in Reinhardt. He is not fast, he isn't "shifty" he doesn't have a huge shot. He is a "good solid two way" guy with some scoring but I've never seen him as a game changer. I thought the so called shake up was for a piece that could change the dynamic of the team. Reinhardt's good not great.

it was a comment made in jest. The 'if he does that he should be fired immediately' comments we see here are usually in response to speculation that is unlikely to ever happen, or flat out ridiculous.
It is interesting to see what triggers people around here sometime and how they react. The 'he should be fired immediately' response is one of the better ones.

I assume if he signs a “fair” contract, he’s headed back to the Avs.
Are the Flames willing to pay him more than anyone else?

I would hope not.
Landeskog is good, but post-apex and I'd say not worth more than 6mil in today's NHL but that's just me. I'm sure he will get more.

Landeskog’s production is carried by Mackinnon and rantanen. Without them he puts up 2nd line numbers

Hearing on the fan 650 in Van that Columbus offered Merzlikins, other pieces and the 5th overall for Eichel but the offer is off the table.

Interesting. Wonder if that has to do with Eichel’s surgery or if they are targeting a different center.

In the Sabres way, they will not be able to get anything near what they think he is worth, and will be left holding the bag with a player that they publicly committed to trading, and that does not want to be there. We can sneak in there with a late low-ball - just have to see if Hanowski is still in the cupboard somewhere...

That’s a pretty low offer if correct. I think Monahan Valimaki and our first is a better offer than that.

The problem with including Valimaki is that he is expansion exempt. If you include him, you are still losing one of Gio, Tanev, Hanifin or Andersson, so now you are down 2 Dmen.
If you offer Hanifin instead, at least you keep Valimaki and the other 3, so you only lose one total.

If you offer Hanifin, the rest of the offer needs to be adjusted downward if it's to be an equivalent offer.

Yes obviously, which shouldn't be a problem.
It is just better asset management to include Hanifin than Valimaki, if you are including a Dman.

Funny the fan960 guys where acting like Tkachuk, 12th overall, 2nd, and a 3rd wouldn't even be close
Not saying the Flames will get him but those guys are out to lunch on the value of Eichel
