Who is ahead of him? The discussion was that we already have enough wingers so don't need to add more for the rebuild.
What winger that we currently have is better than him to block his way onto the team?
The best guy right now is Coleman who shouldn't be around for a rebuild. Mangiapane? Nope, Dube, Nope. Shrangovich hell no. Hubredeau with how he is playing nope. Ruzicka, Pospisil, Greer nope.
The one argument right now would be Zary who Stankoven has outperformed at every level. But sure lets say Zary is ahead still not near enough there to block Stankoven from coming in and improving the team during a rebuild. The winger depth is not better than what he brings.

Admitting players from other organizations are good is fine. Saying they would be better than anything we have on our team right now is trolling. You aren't fooling anyone.

You have rapidly become, next to Paulie, easily the most unreadable poster on CP.
Maybe think about doing us all a favour and taking a break - for the rest of your life. Next up for the IGNORE list!

I honestly don't know who's worse, Spurs, or the posters that keep replying to him/fueling his fire. You guys do know that ignoring him would likely end most of this crap, no?

Guys on Barn Burner were talking with either Seravali or Dreger who said the Flames would get a haul for Markstrom if they traded him, his value will never be higher.

I think with a little retention on Markstrom teams such as the Devils and Hurricanes would pay a ransom.

Please show some NHL stats showing that Stankoven has performed better than all of those guys in the NHL. Thanks.

Jamie McLennan was the one and I agree with him; he mentioned how the Kings have Talbot/Copley who are both pending UFA, Carolina is brutal and just picked up Dell as a PTO, Edmonton and Toronto are both flailing in goal, you have New Jersey and Detroit having issues as well and that’s just off the top of his head. The flames should 100 percent be turning the screws on the goalie market and if there was one longer than 1 year contract I’d like to see retained on its Markstrom’s. Here’s to hoping Conroy gains a solid return and we promote Wolf, I personally would be happy with either Markstrom or Vladar as his partner but I think we can get a kings ransom for Marky as Jamie put it on barn burner.

Markstrom has a NMC. He can't be traded unless he wants to be traded.

You think he wants to stay on a sure fire bottom 10 team instead of a playoff team?

Yep.
And for all we know he might welcome a trade to a team with a much better shot at playoffs and a Cup than the rebuilding/retooling Flames.

Well, he doesn’t have to want to be traded, he just has to agree to be traded, and there’s no reason to believe he wouldn’t if it looked like a good fit to him.
Guys rarely seem to use their NMC to block a move entirely, as they want to be on a team that wants them on the team. It’s usually just to insure they go to a spot they’re going to be happy with.

I know the NMC and staying out was a huge deal for him and the main factor in him signing here. It definitely narrows the field of where he wants to go. I guess as far as winning is concerned the Flames’ future is important as well as the future of the acquiring team. Is moving from Calgary to a team that will just get in a big deal? He’s been there and done that. If he wants a cup it’s really only a few teams that qualify and fewer that would need him (and have the room).

I'm not saying he would want to stay with the Flames during a rebuild/re-tool. But I don't think it's as easy as "Connie will get a haul for him, trade his asap". If anything, it would probably be a summer type move so he doesn't have to uproot his family in the middle of the year.

It depends on not only how much he likes Calgary but what he thinks of the team/city that would be interested in trading for him.
He also may not share your opinion of the team either.

If Conroy pulled this off I would get a full back tattoo of him doing the buddy Christ pose.

That was also in the context of the expansion draft and him having no desire to play on the Kraken. I think the Flames are a bottom 5 team once the UFAs are gone. Most players don’t want to be on a bottom 5 team.
