If McIver gets elected, it will also be the last day any infrastructure is built in this city...

I'm surprised CBC isn't showing the Toronto election

Why do they fail when it comes to real news?

I'm sure nobody really cares about the Winnipeg mayoral race, but I thought this "Mock ad" was hilarious

It made it all the way to the NBC today show too

Is there anyway to vote if you're currently not located in Calgary?

I'm a student down in Lethbridge but have lived in Calgary my entire life and would like to participate, however, enduring the 4 hours of driving there and back to vote just isn't feasible.

Thanks.

Drive the 4 hours, you are probably too late for all the mail in voting that has been going on for over a month or so.

You may still be able to do a mail in vote. Check out pages 6 to 8 of this brochure.

And in the right hand column of the same page:

"The ballots must be returned and received by the Election Office, no later than 8:00 p m on October 18, 2010, Election Day, in accordance with the instructions and in the envelopes provided"

Yeah, I looked into it earlier. The site's quite misleading as it says you can get a ballot up until 8:00pm, but you have to return it by 8:00pm.

If you're a university student I say screw it, turn off Dexter and make a road trip up to Calgary for the vote.

As a nenshi supporter, I have to agree with you to an extent. The Hype machine is get a bit insane (and yes I am guilty of it), but at the same time it's a by product of his campaign. If he didn't have the ravenous fans, we probably wouldn't be talking about him right now and debating a McIvor vs. Barb race. So it's one of those horrible catch 22 situations.

The good news is that on the 20th, we won't have to see anymore election coverage until 2013.
