Thank God. I was getting bored watching Mickelson and Villegas. I love to play golf but the only reason I watch is for Tiger.

Makes sense, he will be able to shelter himself from the Media at the masters. Augusta has never allowed a lot of media around iirc.

no big surprise that he is coming back for the masters. Will be interesting to see how he plays.
If he wins does the storm go away?

Exactly Augusta is very strict as far as who they give media privledges to. You can be sure TMZ, or Entertainment Tonight won't be allowed to cover the event. This will keep him somewhat sheltered and try to keep the focus of the tournament on golf.
I knew there was no way in the world Tiger would miss a major. His life's goal (Other than getting a whole bunch of ass) is to win at least 19 majors. No way he let's any major pass him by if he is healthy enough to play.

Also, isn't the masters put on by the Augusta Golf Club and not the PGA. Tiger can probably skip press conferences etc.. without any rebuke from the Tour.

Good to hear. I always look forward to the Masters and Tiger's presence will be welcomed.
Nothing says spring as much as Jim Nantz greeting us with "Hello, friends."

Yep, he'll be sheltered from anything he wants to be sheltered from, it's the perfect situation to get the initial storm over with. It'll be interesting to see what happens at subsequent tournaments, I'm assuming the goal will be to avoid the tabloid media for long enough to allow this scandal to become more of a footnote as opposed to the main story. I'll be curious to see how active the PGA is in keeping the likes of TMz away from tournaments.

Yep. The PGA Tour has pretty much nothing to do with the event at all. Augusta's control of every single minute detail of the tournament is legendary. It's also worth noting that many Masters "patrons" are lifetime ticket holders, so you can bet there won't be much heckling from the crowd. Any hecklers would likely be removed immediately, who's going to risk their Masters tickets for that?

Anyone has the numbers on how much pull Tiger has on audiences at golf tournaments?
It's amazing how he's practically the face of golf.
After this scandal, I suspect his first game will attract a lot of curious viewers.

He looks really tired and beat down from all of this.
But he's Buddhist? Interesting.

The interview on the Golf Channel I thought was much better.
Better questions, more sincere answers.
I'm still Tiger's #1 fan.

He seemed humble and didn't get defensive. It helps that Kelly Tilghman is his friend. He owes nothing to me. I just want him back playing golf and destroying the field. That is all I ask from an elite athlete. I am pissed that this whole fiasco brought all this TMZ/tabloid/ET crap into the world of golf.
