Wish we knew for sure, but it's pretty quiet when it comes to Hall and the teams interested. Have the Flames been mentioned even at all? Someone said Friedman mentioned the Flames this morning, but I can't find it.

Flames were definitely mentioned when I was watching TSN this morning by Dreger or Serevalli.

The Flames haven’t been overly connected to Hall but not dismissed either. Honestly if Montreal has a shot then the Flames should be all over this.

In my opinion Gaudreau would have to be moved for a combination of a Dman and cap space. Try to attach Ryan to the deal to really clear out space. It has been loosely speculated by a few insiders that the Flames would consider swapping Gaudreau for Hall

Bruins might be talked into trading carlo though. What about mangi for Carlo? Then we could sign hall or toffoli for breads role in the top 6

Colorado, Nashville, and Columbus have 23 million, 15 million, and 14 million in space.

They're all been rumored to be interested.

Montreal had been a favorite, but they only have 4 million in cap now. Boston had been an option, but they have only 7.9 mill left.

Just based on the teams above, it seems like the chances of the Flames landing Hall are pretty low. They're apparently interested, but too many teams are in the picture. Colorado has a ton of space. Nashville has the tax advantage.

I think the 4 player swap I have tossed out there a couple times makes some sense

Mangipane+Hanifin
For
Debrusk+Carlo

Now that I've seen the Tanev signing it seems very unlikely that we would move for carlo.

Give Mang $3 million and Gawdin/Kylington their QO's and the Flames have $1.8 million left with 19 players signed.

I doubt they have multiple offers out on premium guys, simply because they can’t afford them all.

Even if Gaudreau were traded purely for draft picks, which would never happen, the Flames could barely sign Hall. They're definitely out on that front.

Yeah, signed a #1G and a top 4 RHD, now sign our RFAs and we are capped out basically without even a full roster.
If they go after Hall (or any top 6 FWD) and get him, there will have to be some huge trades made to clear cap.

Maybe Hall was out on us? I figure after a full day of zoom meetings they are informing teams who are not being considered?

Why Rittich,

Johnny+Ryan is $10M that is enough for Hall and a cheap 4th liner to replace Ryan

Trade hanifin and Ryan and we can make a swipe at Hall still. Or trade Johnny and Ryan. There's still potential.

Yeah, but finding a team to take on $10 million right now without sending anything back is about as easy as child birth. If they have $10 million in space, they are probably one of the teams in on Hall.

Can teams go over cap during off-season?
This doesn't look good for Taylor Hall and Calgary Flames.

We haven't seen the core of this team change/improved.
Tanev in while Brodie is out is an AT BEST lateral move, but more likely a downgrade.

Markstrom in is a huge upgrade.

So, is that improvement enough? I don't think so.

Yes, by 10%. So we could still easily sign Hall.

...and honestly, we better. Sign Hall and I'll be okay with the Tanev signing, promise... c'mon Tree!
