What an effing card. Holy hell. One of the best cards top to bottom I’ve ever seen.
I was joking with my buddies that with how the card went, it was setting GSP up with Sub of the night. Lol. I’m laughing pretty hard right now.
Unreal. I’m pretty stoked with the excitement.

Gsp wasn't able to hold Bisping down. I think 185 will be too much for him.
I think GSP wants Silva or he goes back to 170

I think you are right. If you get a guy with a great bjj background at that weight you might be in trouble. I might be wrong but it felt like survival mode for GSP during the stand up game.

I disagree. GSP has always had a ridiculous jab, and extremely great timing and range. While shorter, he still had range on Bisping. I’m not saying this is what you saw, but I’m assuming you saw Bisping “our move” GSP as they were feinting and taking shots. GSP notoriously fights efficiently, and that was the case here. His standup was near perfection against a bigger and more strike minded opponent
I thought Bisping was extremely tentative and respectful of the takedowns that GSP willingly does, which made him less aggressive. He definitely did more damage on his back then I thought he would have when GSP had him there.

On twitter some are suggesting GSP vs McGregor next.
Sign me up for that one.

185 might be too much for him, but Bisping is just tough to hold down. George unable to hold him down had all to to with technique and nothing to do with the size gap at 185.
Regardless I think GSP will go down to face Woodley at 170 next.. if he loses he might just vacate the 185 title without ever defending it and sail into the sunset again.

You are right. I saw GSP as getting tired and wasn't sure that he could keep up the stand up game for another 3 rounds. Especially when you are the one trying to become the new champ.

Which round was survival mode, because it wasn't the first round. St Pierre was gassed probably due to the time off but he was winning the exchanges until he got tired.

Think that was the rumour until Connor lost to Nate Diaz too, could see it happening but it would be a massive size advantage for GSP though. Connor is a huge featherweight, big lightweight but puny welter.

Traditionally it's not considered taking the fight to the ground when it's due to a strike.

I agree with this to some extent. If this was GSP 4 years ago, I would have said he would find a way to rally for the last 3 rounds. I had the same feeling that he might be gassing, but my mind kept going back to how he was 4 years ago, and that he was vintage GSP for the first round.
What an amazing fight regardless. I didn’t know what to expect, and was pleasantly surprised.

I just watched the GSP fight replay online and man, what a fight I missed. The guy looked really good, as did Bisping. If it wasn't for GSP setting the tone early which made Bisping pretty nervous, Bisping may very well have pressed on and won the fight. GSP set the tone and really took it to him. Aside from taking elbows while on top of him, he did great. I really hope he drops a class to keep his conditioning top notch if any future fights go the distance.
