I was prepared to lose but down 20 in the first half / that's a bit surprising / Oh well this is all gravy anyway. Really the East is the Cavs and the rest and the Raptors already won the best of the rest award.

I believe in the Jays.

We have to defend better on the ball. If every play is a blow by then this series is over in 4.

Yep.
The only shot Toronto has in this series is to lock it down conpletely on defense and be opportunistic.
Or Lebron's breaks his wristv dunking over Carrol

Lets hope its like the Thunder/Spurs series with game 1 being a slaughter, but the Thunder still winning the series. Defense is abysmal but Cleveland has just been on fire all playoffs.

Need to tighten up the defensive rotation. Can't just expect to just handle Cleveland's athletes 1 on 1 with no help whatsoever, what a slaughter.
Frustrating to see the offense panic and start settling for jumpers during that huge Cleveland run late 1st/early 2nd after they had done such a fantastic job early of attacking and getting good looks inside.
And as JVG said, Lowry and DeRozan can NEVER both be off the court at the same time vs this team. Not sure what the hell the coaching staff was thinking there.

Just got home and turned on the TV. Wow, I guess I didn't miss much. Score is ugly and 4th quarter is just starting. What the heck happened? I guess they need to regroup next game.

First quarter the O was fantastic but Cleveland was equally good after Toronto jumped out to an early lead. Raps D was all out of sorts and was offering no help D whatsoever which allowed the Cavs to get to the rim at will. Cleveland went on a massive run at the end of the first/early second and the Raps started settling for jumpers which got them into their usual funk that happens when they do that. The 2nd and 3rd quarters were an absolute bloodbath.

Casey can't care about minutes, they can't beat either Western team so go all in for the Finals. He's gotta roll with Lowry and DeRozan 40+ minutes a game to win this series, as soon as Lowry left they fell apart on offense. Defense should be better in game 2 and the Cavs likely won't shoot as well, lets see if they can keep the undefeated after a loss streak going.

Casey can roll with whoever he wants as Cavs roll with James, Irving and Love plus. Lebron is light years better than anything the Raptors can put on the floor.
Irving and Love are very good 2 banana's and the rest of the cast is strong. They are such a long notch ahead it's not funny.
IF they could somehow pull one off at home and not get swept that would be great. I laugh when I read that the Raptors are one piece from being a contender / yeah if that piece was Lebron or Curry otherwise whatever.

In fairness, the top 4 players in the league right now are all in the conference finals and the raptors have none of them.
It's basically impossible to win a NBA title without 1 legit Superstar (not all-star) and it most cases you need 2 or 3.
The Raptors should be applauded for getting this far, they just don't have the talent, Love, James and Irving are all better than anyone the Raptors have.

Lowry is better than Love, and it's not particularly close. Love is beyond a liability on defense, to the point I expect he's not even on the floor in crunch time if they make the Finals. Offense is a wash, so advantage Kyle overall (nevermind the leadership Kyle contributes). It's also worth remembering the Cavs are probably the healthiest team left and the Raps are the least healthy team left. I definitely think they'd be 5 times more likely to win this series with JV and Carroll at 100%. As it is, they'll probably get swept which hopefully highlights just how important JV is and how they need to feature him more on offense.

Thanks Trojan... I hate it when they rely on shooting outside all the time. They had so much success going to the net against Miami and Indiana, so why the heck change now. No wonder they lost by over 30. I know their chances against Cleveland is not as good especially without JV but I just want them to put up a fight and try to upset the Cavs. Hopefully they smarten up tomorrow night.

Not a bad first quarter. Only down by 2 but defense has to be a lot tighter. Offense is doing good but Raps missed some good opportunities.

Lowry not having a good game so far. A few turnovers and he's been so-so defensively.

Raps are looking to sloppy. Gotta slow it down and not getting caught getting goaded into the overly fast paced style. James is the only guy who's not falling for the longball on the Cavs. Every other guy is playing the perimeter. Raps have to play smarter.
