Because, if I'm remembering this correctly, jersey designs are a decision made by CSE, not Hockey Ops. Burke is the President of Hockey Ops., while King is head of CSE.
Makes sense, really -- jerseys, while also providing a sense of team spirit and identity, exist as a marketing and business opportunity, which is what CSE is really all about.

Rename the thread whatever it takes to get someone with the power to change the jersey to read it. Give the fans what they have been asking for since these most recent weak ass jerseys came out a decade ago.
For the love of god do something already. It's so frustrating when it seems every other team has done something more recently than the Flames have.
The Classic simple look is the way to go. Never goes out of style. Bring back the vintage jerseys you sadistic monsters.

I'm not a fan of these. If we ever drop black completely from our colour scheme, then I think we should bring back the original design as closely as possible.

While I understand some people love the retro jerseys, I've never been that fond of them. They're very "McDonalds" feeling. At the same time, I agree that too much black feels very 90s.
Black works best as a trim colour, not a primary colour.
