Vince Young was their passing leader going 0-2 for 0 yards and an interception. Oddly enough, Titan fans still gave him a 2 star rating on NFL.com for that performance.
I'm guessing that right now it's more about them hating Kerry Collins than liking Vince Young.

I think for the first time ever I am actually aware of the NFL trade deadline. A lot of it has to do with Twitter, but I am also hearing rumours that the current regime at Arrowhead would like to trade every player with the exception of Matt Cassel (because he is so awesome). Will be interesting to see what Pioli can get done in the next day.

If Atlanta somehow trades for Glenn Dorsey, I'd be laughing my tail off. There was so much pre-draft speculation on whether they'd take Dorsey or Ryan, clearly the made the right choice. But if they could somehow get BOTH a few years later??
Pioli is going to be rebuilding this team from scratch to ensure his handprints are everywhere, but why oh why would that future not include a stud like Bowe?

Because he wasn't selected by Bill Belichek or Bill Parcells. I don't think Bowe will be going anywhere. If you look at the former starters or even Star players from the last regime that are in the dog house or gone from the Chiefs. Safety Bernard Pollard (of knocking Tom Brady out for the season fame) was cut at training camp and is now starting for the Texans (who are a better team than the Chiefs by the way). Rumor was that Pollard was cut to send a message to the rest of the team. Former first round pick Derrick Johnson is in the dog house and has been kept on the bench with trade rumors swirling around him.
Glen Dorsey is the subject of trade rumors, Brandon Albert is the subject of trade rumors, Larry Johnson is the subject of trade rumors (that is one deal that needs to get done). Hey, if it improves the team I'm all for it. So far I really don't trust Pioli's judgment. The Matt Cassel contract is a head scratcher, especially since they didn't try to surround their $63,000,000 QB with any talent. Not to mention trading away his top receiver. The Tyson Jackson pick at number 3 overall is just plain stupid. Even if Jackson ends up being a hall of famer, they could have traded down to select him since he wasn't on any body's radar. Now the Chiefs are dying at LB and Curry who they passed over for Jackson is having a great year.
Pioli has brought in a lot of other players to try and improve the Chiefs. One thing all these players have in common is their connection to the Patriots or the Bill Parcells Dolphins or Cowboys. He has brought in a few plugs on offense from the Todd Haley Cardinals. Maybe Pioli is a smart man and was a big reason why the Patriots won three Super Bowls while he was employed by them. Or he could be just another yes man under the genius Bill Belichek who is taking a lot of credit for things he had absolutely nothing to do with.
What would make me happy, would be to see Pioli trade for a player that he hasn't got an opinion on from Belichek or Parcells first. Then we can see just how smart Scottie is when he isn't being told what to do by his former boss or Father In Law.

I remember back to the 2005 draft, you know, the Vikings Troy Williamson/Erasmus James debocle. I was a huge huge fan of Derrick Johnson, it would be great to get him in purple now.

That wouldn't bother me. The other trade the Chiefs did with the Vikings still has me seething. What a bunch of A holes.

I like Peter King but that point is dead on.
Here is what PK said in his column:
Quote:
And it certainly isn't fair that a man's public politics may well have kept him from owning a team. But Limbaugh would have been a living, breathing, daily distraction, and that's something the NFL wasn't going to have.
|
And in that respect Rush differs from Michael Vick how?
Although I do think that Rush would have been "Ballsillied" before it went much further, and it isn't like PK has any say in matters like this.

I differs in 3 ways.
First, Vick is to the Eagles as Limbaugh is to the NFL. Vick just had to get approval of a team for him to play, I guess he could have been suspended for life but I doubt we will ever see that. Limbaugh needs approval by all the teams to be an owner.
Second, Limbaugh speaks daily on a public platform. He makes a lot of comments that are borderline racist and are certainly controversial every single day. Vick certainly has been outspoken since his reinstatement, but i don't think he has said anything bad or controversial.
Third, Vick is trying to right himself it appears. Limbaugh would rather die than change how he is.

They are both "living, breathing, daily distractions".
I'm no fan of Rush. Actually, I think he is a vile person and is a big example of the type of media that has helped foster the polarization evident in politics today.
And if he was an owner of the Rams it would make every one of their defeats to my Niners even more sweet.
But I do dislike the way there seems to be arbitrary character requirements applied.

Siants fans have their eyes on Dorsey (local boy) and Derrick Johnson. In the long run I doubt either get moved. Dorsey/Sedrick Ellis would look pretty good up the middle for years to come.

Unreal. I'm glad I was flying and couldn't see this game. He called 54 passing plays to 12 running plays. Then he doesn't even have the balls to stick around and answer questions after the game.
I think Andy is great at designing plays and coaching quarterbacks, but he's a terrible play-caller and game-manager. He just doesn't adapt and is too stubborn to make in-game adjustments.
I like to laugh at Norv Turner for how little he gets out of his teams. Andy Reid is just as bad. He's had some of the most talented teams in the last ten years and has only one Super Bowl appearance.
Then there's the Trotter debacle. Brian Dawkins is too old to play for this team anymore but Jeremiah Trotter is fresh? Bunch of ######s.

Well there could be a real glut of teams in playoff contention this year. As of now there are 4 AFC teams with 3 wins which is tied for the second Wild Card playoff spot. In the NFC, that number is 5. When you have more lousy teams than good teams the result tends to be a lot of teams with 9-7 records fighting for those Wild Card spots.
I'm beginning to think the NFC East is pretty over rated. The Giants 5-1 record features wins over power houses like Kansas City, Oakland, Tampa, Washington and Dallas. The Eagles got clobbered by the Saints, lost in Oakland, and have beat KC, Tampa, Carolina who combined had 1 win before yesterday. Dallas has proven that they're mediocre at best having beat K.C, Tampa, and Carolina. Than there is Washington who had played 5 straight games against teams who had zero wins on the season (6 if you count the Giants in week 1), and they only won 2 of those games! The Giants opponents have 8 combined wins, the Eagles 3, the Cowboys 3, and the Skins 0. Those teams have all had pretty easy schedules so far and the Giants are the only ones who've taken any type of advantage of it.

But....but....ya, I can't even make that trade seem fair anymore.
But seriously, what's the deal with Johnson, just not playing the way the coaching staff wants? Wonder what kind of system he would fit in....

No blocking doesn't help. He is turning 30 or has just turned 30 so he has pretty much hit the wall. Look at how LT has dropped out of sight.

If you watched the Cowboys play the Chiefs it is fair to say you are overrating the Cowboys. They are down right horrible.

Three things stand out to me for Johnson, he doesn't have the quickness to make a cut like he once did, and he can't pick up his feet when he does get an opening. I'm also finding that he can't break tackles anymore either as soon as someone gets a hand on him, he's down. There is some poor play by the offensive line, but it seems like every time they try to run between the tackles they might as well just line up for 2nd and 11. They say he's a power runner...at this point I think he might be better off running in a spread style offence like Chan Galey was running last year where he's not trying to grind it out for 4 yards a carry.
At least the team has finally found a kicker! Give Pioli credit for that one, ha ha. Dummy King Carl never could. The more I think about it, the more I hate that guy..since Schottenheimer's time ran out and he left the Chiefs have been terrible with one set of back to back winning seasons and only one legitimate playoff apperance, the 9-7 Wild Card year they only made it because they got to beat the crap out of a terrible NFC West that year. Peterson is largely responsible for the mess the team is now. 100% him in terms of the lack of talent I say. If he'd have left when Vermeil did...Guys like Jared Allen and Tony Gonzalez might still be Chiefs.

Broncos and Chargers seperated by the officials 40 mins before kickoff to avoid a brawl.

I hope the Bronco's lay a serious beat down on the Chargers that damages their psychie so bad that they go into Arrowhead and get destroyed next week.

The Chargers can't punch it in the end zone and on the kickoff, after the SD FG, Royal returns it 93 yards to give the Broncos the lead.
