I only moved into Sunnyside late July, so I missed this survey to add my $0.02. Too bad. Unacceptable that the nearest latte is now 3 blocks walking instead of one on the north side of the bridge.

I can't believe that was the consensus opinion. Unless it was people who figured the bridge was expensive, lets make it useless too or something. Having no crossing by the bridge makes it way less useful. It only saved a few blocks for anyone anyway, now it's 1 less.

Well apparently you're one of the few intelligent residents in the community!
A year and a half ago I lived bath robe stumbling distance to Vendome and got nothing??? bah!
So really there were 3 options...
1) Leave things as they are (worst scenario for vehicles and pedestrians)
2) Move it to 8th, close 8th (better for pedestrians, still bad for vehicles)
3) Move it to 8th, keep 8th open (best for pedestrians AND cars)
Makes sense to pick option 1...

Seriously, that's just stupid. The bridge is between 8th and 9th, so:
- Anyone coming from / going to 7th and further east would be unaffected by moving the crossing to 8th.
- Anyone coming from / going to 8th or further west would avoid a two-block detour.
The city leadership should just overrule the citizens here, IMO. I live like 8 blocks from the bridge and it was hard to see myself ever using even with a crossing at 8th... even harder now.

^^^ You should hire him out, I understand we paid quite a bit for that design.
Personally, I think it looks awesome.

BTW, are there any plans to have a latte-sipping CP meetup when the bridge is officially opened? Because I am SO there.

Did he submit a design for the St. Patrick's bridge?

Is green text really that necessary? I don't even have a kid -- I was mocking all the posters who said exactly that line when the Peace Bridge design was unveiled years ago.

Yeah, same here. At first I thought it wasn't going to go all the way across. But now to find out that it does in fact go from one side to the other, is excellent news.

I thought that seeing it going across the river today would change my mind about the design and I would be inspired, or grow to like it.
But I understand not everyone likes everything that everyone else likes.
But if its good enough for Black Archer, I guess I'll just have to live with it, since I'll never be using it.

Going to look really sweet when the temporary bridge underneath it is removed.
