Dhaliwal mentioned that the Canucks have no interest in dealing Myers. My guess is he gets extended for 4ish. He has improved a lot this season.

I don't think it's unreasonable that he re-signs. I do think that depends where we end up at the end of this year combined with what is available next year. Currently, they just don't have anyone that can fill his role if he's dealt.
Myers HAS been very good since we got Zadorov. I would hate to bank on that being because of Myers and re-signing him and letting Zadorov walk then going back to regular Chaos Giraffe hi-jinks.

You know you want to re-sign him...
Do it.

I'll be worried when he comes out and says he won't sign. Vancouver sports media will make #### up to stir the pot.
Edit - Let me change my stance a little. I'll be worried if Dhaliwal, who is the only one I don't actively distrust, says its time to worry.

Well, he's also an RFA, so there's not much he can really do to not be a Canuck next season unless he really escalates this.

Hopefully both Pete and Leon bolt this summer (communicate intention not to extended ala Tkachuk)

He is an RFA, presumably with arbitration rights. Does he have one year left before UFA?

Nah that lets the Oilers trade Leon.
I hope he stays and then walks to UFA for nothing.

Better he pulls a Gaudreau rather than a Tkachuk

Perhaps sometimes he does, but I listened to the episode yesterday and his quote is accurate. 18:20 or so in the below clip.

Sure, but don't give him the satisfaction of quoting him. Ignore Taj. Taj is bad.

I am loathe to double post, but: Dhaliwal has come out and said there is nothing weird or worrying about what is currently going on between the Canucks and Pettersson. Both sides are fine. Both sides are on the same page, maybe different paragraphs but same page. Canucks are frustrated because they want the deal done, but they also understand why the player is doing what he is doing.
Pettersson realizes that if the team goes deep in the play-offs, his pay day gets even bigger. He's betting on himself. I don't think there's an issue with that. I do think it means you push your chips in this year though, as you're not getting multiple kicks at this with a lot of depth unless young players step in next year and are exceptional.

Luck has a lot to do with winning the cup and the Canucks have seemingly caught lightning in a bottle this season and have as good of a chance as they've had in their history. They gotta go for it, in my opinion. The core guys in Vancouver like Pettersson don't give af about Lekkerimaki or other kids. Move what they need to in order to give them the best chances because they could easily come back next season with the exact same team and finish 3rd in Pacific or Wild Card.

He could but I get the feeling he's just squeezing the Canucks for every last penny as is his right.
