You guys are so brutal. Who knows if its true, but I heard from a family member of a Current big name in the Flames organization. Just passing it on. I sort of hope its not true so you can all feel smart about yourselves.

Yeah, sign and trades like never happen. I would be shocked if Nashville traded a player that they just begged to stay.

Not being brutal. The guy just signed an 8 year deal with Nashville a few days ago. I suppose it could be the rare sign and trade but hard to imagine the Flames could make any commitment to Nashville given the Gaudreau situation.

Also has a full NMC for the first 5 ish years, I mean it could happen. I just don't think it's likely either.

I don't think there's ever been a "sign and trade" that happened a week later. They're usually instantaneous, if even just for the PR outfall that would arise with such a delay.

Well I'm gonna play a prediction and say that the circle of life will complete when Samsonov signs with the Oilers.
He is literally the last goalie left they can sign. And I don't think Gibson will be willing to go to Edmonton if he won't even consider the Leafs.

Could you imagine a team making an official announcement that they are excited to sign a player, only to trade them a few days later? That would make an organization look pretty dumb.

I still think Edmonton will end up signing Jack Campbell. They seem to love former Leafs.

Would be funny if the Preds and Flames worked a deal where Forsberg ends up a Flame and one of Gaudreau or Tkachuk end up a Predator with a new contract signed as part of the deal. The cost certainty of Forsberg would make dealing one and signing the other that much more appetizing. Highly unlikely to happen but would be a level of wizardry that would make Treliving legendary.

Not to be rude but this might just be old information because he just signed with the Preds 2 days ago. If he was being signed and traded that would have been worked out already so it just won’t happen. If it did that would be really weird and I don’t doubt it would have been their Plan B if both he and Johnny hit free agency just no longer an option

I was thinking this to. Maybe it was something floated on the table a few days back. Not all reliable rumours come to roost but it still doesn’t make it false. Anyways thanks for sharing Jonesy.
